Does anyone know where the Virgin Mary was born? On Wikipedia, it says unknown… is this true, or is there a generally accept area?

I just read through the Proto-Evangelium of James, which is probably the most thorough writing on Mary and her parents Joachim and Anne, but it doesn’t say anything about where she was from.
It did indicate that from the time she was three, she was consecrated to the Temple in Jerusalem and stayed there until she was twelve. The Temple priests then chose a widower, Joseph, to wed Mary before she can defile the Temple (via menstruating).

Tradition generally estimates that Mary was 13 at the time that Jesus was born. This would place her birth at roughly 16BC. Tradition also indicates that she was 72 years old when she left this world (56AD).No, we do not know where or when she was born.

According to the Catholic Encyclopedia there are various ideas on her age at the Annunciation which vary between 12-16.Tradition generally estimates that Mary was 13 at the time that Jesus was born. This would place her birth at roughly 16BC.
What is your source?
I know of know tradition that claims her exact birth year or age at the Annunciation, even less so a tradition that holds any weight in church teaching. (And, since most scholarly conjecture puts Jesus’s actual birth year around 4BC, your 16 BC is off by a few years)
