A question that has been asked by a woman who has experienced the agony of an abortion. “Where were all you Christians as I prayed for a “sign” from God on the day of my abortion?”

First, God isn’t in the business of giving “signs” on demand. Second, and in all charity, I believe this unfortunate lady already HAD her sign: the life, the beating heart living below her own.

Oh please. The Catholic Church is the loudest, most annoying voice against abortion in the world, so much so that she’s hated and reviled for it.

We pray outside abortion clinics while keeping our distance in compliance with civil law. We push for the repeal of abortion in legislatures everywhere. And all we get is abuse from those who would murder babies in the womb.

The sign was there, the voice was there. She didn’t listen for it.
 
I find the defensiveness here a bit baffling. It’s 100% true that most people who oppose abortion do so from the comforts of their couch or office chair, not by trying to enact legislative changes, or protesting at abortion clinics, or working at crisis pregnancy centers where they can present options to abortion. There is absolutely more that Christians as a group could do to try and change things.

I think the others may not have read the article.
 
Our Church has a group of people that pray the Divine Chaplet on Friday in front of the abortion clinic In my time. It’s a peaceful group just prayer. We don’t contact anyone.

That’s from about 12:40 to 1 PM and so we were told by someone they quit scheduling abortions during that time frame.

I’m sorry for the woman that she didn’t seek out a Catholic Church or some pro life organization and that no one was there for her in her mind. Someday she’ll realize that she had the biggest sign, life within her own body.

I hope she received counseling.

Just how is abandoning your dna to strangers a relief or comfort?
 
Only half of a baby’s chromosomes would carry the DNA of his/her mother.

Beyond that, the expression of both sets of DNA can differ quite a lot in the baby.

Finally, there’s a fairly large difference between killing a child, and allowing a child to raised by parents who want a child to love.

“Abandonment” is leaving a kid to die of dehydration, starvation, exposure to the weather, asphyxiation, etc.
 
This young women’s voice adds balance to all the voices that excoriate Christians for praying outside clinics.
