Hello all,

Orginally, I was writing an online application for my own use to keep track of different verses and comments. However, as I was doing it, I kept adding more stuff and realized that I could share with you all.

I am happy to release the first version of online dual Douay-Rheims Online Bible and Latin Vulgate application. I would like to ask you please to test out the Website. It has several features:

Demo account:

username: demo
password: password
  • you can search without log in; however, if you have a created account, you will be able to do some stuff.
For all visitors or members, you can do the followings:
  • search by keyword or verses such as: Mat 2:1 or Mat: 2:1-14, or just simply Mat 1
  • it allows you to compile different verses from OT to NT books and display all the selected verses on the same page.
  • furthermore, it allows you to save the selected verses when you are logged in. With saving the verses, you will be able to add your comments and insight.
  • For the saved verses, you will be able to ask the admin to have your saved entry to be displayed to the public or to just yourself.
  • another feature, you can switch between Douay-Rheims and Latin Vulgate for any verses…even for your saved entry.
  • etc… 🙂
I am planning to add other Bible version to the application in the near future

First of all, God bless you for your effort on this site (and I assume also the other sites mentioned in your signature).

The site looks great! You must have been very, very, busy 😃

I have only one suggestion so far — where you list the books of the OT, in addition to the DR book names, you might also list the more standard names (like used in the NAB or RSV-CE). e.g. 3rd Kings in the DR is the same as 1st Kings in the NAB or RSV.

Good idea, ricmat. Yes, I needed to add those notes so that people who are not familiar with the names of the books. When I have another version of the Bible added to the application, I will adapt the names of the books from NAB.

Thank you for your advices!

PS: yes, the other sites: one is personal and the other is for Legion of Mary group in which I am a member. It is just created as well.

I’ve decided to go with the standard names for users to locate the books easier. 🙂
