Where's a good place to buy a veil?

I don’t go to the TLM, but I do have a lot of respect for it and would like to be more traditional. Whenever I see a woman wearing a veil in church, it always makes me smile because it’s a great example of pious modesty. I was wondering if someone here could please lead me to a good place to buy a veil.

Lots of veils in Libya, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Indonesia. Sorry, I couldn’t resist saying that.

If women simply turn veils into another fashion statement, it seems to defeat the whole purpose of the veil.

Mostly, it seems, the Church has gotten off the kick of insisting on women wearing veils, hasn’t it? Is it really a symbol of modesty? What is the theology of this?

Wearing a veil for the right reasons is a good thing, especially at Mass as we make the journey to Calvary to the foot of the Cross.

Not sure where you can buy them, but perhaps if you see a lady at Mass wearing a veil, after Mass you could ask if they knew of a place.

eBay. Search for mantilla or chapel veil. If you know how to do advanced search, subtract words like wedding and bridal and doll to limit your results more to what you want.

Veils can be a bit expensive if you buy them. What I do is go to the fabric store and pick out pretty lace material that I like, they have lots of colors. I buy approx. a 1/2 yard, hand sew both sides that are cut. Since I prefer the mantilla type veils this makes a perfect sized mantilla. Total cost of my last one was 4.50. Not bad considering the ones online can cost $45 and up for the larger sizes.

I use both types just because I like a little variety.
