My parish hasn’t sung/recited the Gloria since Easter Season. I always thought that it was optional on weekday masses, but required on every Sunday Mass outside of Lent.

Am I wrong on this???

No, you are not wrong on this. Here’s what the GIRM says:
The Gloria
53. The Gloria is a very ancient and venerable hymn in which the Church, gathered together in the Holy Spirit, glorifies and entreats God the Father and the Lamb. The text of this hymn may not be replaced by any other text. The Gloria is intoned by the priest or, if appropriate, by a cantor or by the choir; but it is sung either by everyone together, or by the people alternately with the choir, or by the choir alone. If not sung, it is to be recited either by all together or by two parts of the congregation responding one to the other. It is sung or said on Sundays outside the Seasons of Advent and Lent, on solemnities and feasts, and at special celebrations of a more solemn character.
It’s not optional.

Does this mean our parish is in trouble???
It means that you should respectfully bring this up with your pastor and see how he responds.

I am interested in this Prayer beginning with words from Evangelija of Luke. In Russia/Ukraine this prayer iis called the Great Word of Glory and is not sung at Divine Liturgy, but sung or said at Utrenya (morning prayer) and Povecernye (evening prayer). However it differs although only slightly from Latin church version. It emphasizes Trinity more. Frist lines of prayer are addressed to Lord Heavenly King, God The Almighty Father, Lord Only Begotton Son Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit. What is source of this difference?

Good question! The basic form of the Gloria is first found in the Constitutions of the Holy Apostles in this form:
“Glory be to God in the highest, and upon earth peace, good-will among men.” We praise Thee, we sing hymns to Thee, we bless Thee; we glorify Thee, we worship Thee by Thy great High Priest; Thee who art the true God, who art the One Unbegotten, the only inaccessible Being. For Thy great glory, O Lord and heavenly King, O God the Father Almighty, O Lord God, the Father of Christ the immaculate Lamb, who taketh away the sin of the world, receive our prayer, Thou that sittest upon the cherubim. For Thou only art holy, Thou only art the Lord Jesus, the Christ of the God of all created nature, and our King, by whom glory, honour, and worship be to Thee.
The form you mention appears to be a reworking of this, probably in a monastic setting since this was part of Matins and Lauds at differerent times in history. It first appears in the Mass under Pope Symmachus (or, at least, thats what the Liber Pontificalis says). This would mean that it was somewhere between 498 and 514 which are the years of his rule. A variation of this is used in the Byzantine Night prayer:
Glory to God in the highest, on earth peace, and good will to men.
  • We sing to You, we bless You, we worship You, we glorify You, we give thanks to You for the splendor of your Glory.
  • O Lord King, Heavenly God: Father Almighty. O Lord, Only-Begotten Son:
Jesus Christ! And O You: All Holy Spirit!
  • O Lord God, O Lamb of God, O Son of the Father who take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us! O You who take away the sins of the world!
  • Accept our supplication, O You who are enthroned at the right hand of the Father, and have mercy on us!
  • For You alone are Holy, You alone are the Lord Jesus Christ in the glory of God the Father. Amen.
  • Every day will I bless You and sing to Your name, always, and for ever and ever.
  • O Lord, You have been for us a refuge from age to age.
  • I said: “Lord have mercy on me and heal my soul, for I have sinned against You.”
  • O Lord, to You do I come for shelter. Teach me to obey your will, for You are my God.
  • For with You is the fountain of life, and in your Light we shall see light.
  • Extend your mercy upon those who confess you.
  • Deign, O Lord to keep us this evening without sin.
  • Blessed are You, O Lord, God of our Fathers! Praised and glorified is your name forever. Amen.
  • O Lord, let Your mercy rest upon us, for we have placed our trust in you.
  • Blessed are You, O Lord. Teach me your statutes.
  • Blessed are You, O Master. Grant that I may understand your statutes.
  • Blessed are You, O Holy One. Enlighten me with your statutes.
  • Everlasting is your love, O Lord; do not turn away from the work of your hands!
  • Indeed, praise, adoration and glory are your due: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, now and always and forever and ever. Amen.
