The only inspired texts are the original texts. When we ask “which Bible” what we’re mainly asking is which translation. Not all translations are created equal. As with any translation, especially with ancient documents, there will always be disagreements as to how to best translate particular words or passages. As Catholics we believe that Apostolic Succession means that our bishops can trace their line of ordination all the way back to the original Apostles. This means that the teachings we receive today come from that line directly from the Apostles and Jesus. For a solid translation that the Church has approved of a person need only look for a *Nihil obstat *and Imprimatur on the first few pages.
