Which Bible Lectionary in Canada?

Does anyone know which Bible Lectionary is in Canada?

I’m renewing my Magnificat (missal) and the US version didn’t match up 100% with the reading here in Ontario. They offer an “other English speaking countries” version that uses the Jerusalem Bible Lectionary.

Any insights? Thanks!
 
Canada’s Lectionary is based on the New Revised Standard Version of the Bible, with modifications mandated by the Holy See.

In your opinion, which of the two Magnificat offerings would be closest to the NRSV?
  • USA Version (New American Bible)
  • Other English (Jerusalem Bible)

I prefer a missal with the daily mass and “extras” like the Magnificat offers.
 
If you want a missalette with the Canadian readings I think your only option is “Living with Christ” published by Novalis:

If you’re hooked on the extras in Magnificat I’d continue using the American version, as I don’t think you’ll find the Jersualem any closer to what we use up here.

It’s always saddened me that there’s no missal available with all three years (or two for daily masses) for Canada. I have a few friends in Catholic publishing and they’ve told me that there’s just not enough of a market to make printing one worthwhile.

Still, now that the missal has been standardized for the entire English speaking world, the only real difference is the translation of the lectionary, and a few feasts that may vary from country to country.

The NAB readings from the New Testament would be quite close because it was translated on similar principles as the NRSV. Howerver, the Old Testament would be way different.

The Jerusalem Bible would not resemble the NRSV at all.

If Mass readings are what you’re after (and not the Liturgy of the Hours), Living with Christ may be a better option.

But none of them are permanent hand missals; they are always annual and expire every year. However, I have a new St. Benedict Press RSV-CE (not NRSV) with a handy Bible readings table at the back, so I just use those instead.

As for the Missal, I still have the Daily Roman Missal by Midwest Theological Forum/Scepter Press for the Ordinary Form.
