Yes,

The CTS Bible is modelled after the UK lectionary of JB texts with Grail Psalms and the use of ‘Yahweh’ replaced with LORD.

I must admit I am far more comfortable with the CTS Bible. I used to have the Original JB for reading, but the use of ‘Yahweh’ annoyed me, so when the CTS came out it was great to follow our Lectionary word-for-word after years of ‘Yahwehs’ in my personal reading, haha.

Come to think of it, I could have just read my Missal

Good for you!!! I have read some the JB and the Yahwehs’ did get to me a lot. Not to say the JB is bad, but I do hope to get the CTS as I like to do comparative analysis with different Bibles

I am also quite partial to the DR as my comparison scripture, I love its archaic style, sort of like our own KJV, if you will. However, as the JB is used over here as our lectionary, I’m just far more familiar with its style and have always had a soft spot for it. So yes, once the Catholic Truth Society announced they were putting the JB together with the Grail Psalms, to match the lectionary, I was over the moon!

From what I’ve read aound these boards, the NAB is often seen as being totally inappropriate for liturgical use.
However, the JB used in the UK lectionary doesnt use ‘Yahweh’ like the original JB and the Psalms are actualy the Grail Psalms. It’s nowhere near as bad as the NAB judging from the way that is criticised around here… At least a lot, lot fewer people are ready to ‘bash’ on it as they do with the NAB so frequently. As an English churchgoer, I have never heard any complaints about the JB. Let’s compare with the NAB’s popularity!

The notes will not be to the liking of those who deplore the NAB - I never warmed to it because the English is so pedestrian OTOH, it does have the great virtue of printing verse as verse, something that versions earlier than 1900 or so don’t do. If they would only do something about the text… :stretcher:​
