I use the Revised Standard Version CE, First Edition. I hope to get the second soon, but I do own most of the popular English translations, and it depends on what I am doing. If writing, I use the RSVCE with the NAB’s/Jerusalem’s footnotes, the Ignatius Study Bible, or the Navarre Bible (complete with Vulgate!) If just reading for Lectio, I use the NAB. If I want to sound like a Traddie, I use the Douay or Knox.
I recommend all of them for a better view of Catholic teaching, and how language has progressed. But the RSV-CE (not the NRSV-CE), the Vulgate, and the Septuagint are the three best. Stick with those, and you can’t go wrong.
Pax et bonum,
Joseph
