Which Bible translation is most accurate ?

Although I’m not Catholic I use the Catholic Bible.
The translation I’ve always used is the New American Bible.
Recently I have heard two people who describe themselves as Catholic apologists say that the New American Bible is problematic as a translation.
They didn’t give any specifics as to why.
Is what they said true?
And if it is true,then what is the most accurate translation?
By accurate translation I also mean accurate accompanying commentaries and explanations.
