This is why people are telling you to find out what the Catholic Church teaches, you apparently have some misunderstandings along the way. The Church hands on His teachings and we all love Jesus, its never a sin to love HIM. Your free will is respected, just please learn what all you are saying entails so that you will be making an informed decision. From what you said here, you’re not yet correctly informed on all those things.

There is a lot of confusion. There seems to be 2 sects in the Catholic Religion and that is confusing. Traditionalism vs Liberalism. Why the two labels? Is a person one or the other?

Out of all people here I certainly understand your position. I too went through what you are perceiving. I was even a seminarian. I defected many years ago without submitting a letter as I said already. But I knew the teachings of the Church for the most part but no body seemed to be practicing them and there was a time period where Catechesis was seriously lacking. Many Catholics have decided to be cafateria Catholics and the errors keep growing by leaps and bounds. However, that stated, the Church still holds firm to the truth. The Bishops are working towards correcting the mistakes made by sinners in the Church. If you study your history you will find that after each council [thus Vatican Council II] there is a ripple effect or better a pendulum effect where the laity/clergy swing in confusion from one extreme to the other and then back. That is historically true. We’re approaching 50 years now, but things are beginning to come back to center.

Don’t base your faith on heresy, learn what the Church teaches first and base your decission on the teachings of the Church. Find a good RCIA program to enter and do this slowly. There is no need to rush anything. Try to find a way to give a clue where you are at and see if you can get a good idea where there is an orthodox Catholic teaching RCIA program without the dissenters. I have some really good websites that helped me on my journey. But it’s true that you sound confused. I understand that. I was confused too and would share it with you if you truly begin to search for the truth, not just throw it out because you just don’t care, understand or whatever. Sincerity is necessary for me to bend over backwards.

Be careful where you learn, there are many dissenters still out there and they will have to answer for that sin one day. I can name off quite a few orthodox Catholics on this forum. There are many…many like me that left and came back…even converts that learned the teachings better. What’s really cool is that many of us have actually begun to understand it, not just blindly practice it.
