I just bought my first Daily Roman Missal and I’ve found it to be indispensable already!

In terms of literature, Brideshead Revisited by Evelyn Waugh really kind of sealed the deal of my reversion. Father Barron’s commentary on Brideshead is wonderful, also. The teaching of religion through beauty first, then goodness, and then truth is what was really missing for me growing up.

I am going to buy the Daily Missal next. I know it weighs a ton but all that wealth of prayers/scripture etc is a must

Because I travel quite a bit for work and space/weight is at a premium, I subscribe to the Magnificat, which has morning and evening readings, as well as the daily Mass readings in it, plus a reflection on the Gospel, and the order of the mass in it. Works well for my purposes. It also has some other reflections, plus a great religious work of art in it each month.

I understand you can get it in electronic format, but from what I’ve heard, it doesn’t contain the daily reflections like the print version.

We recently relocated and one issue was delayed a couple of weeks–I sure missed it!

My favorites are:

Divine Mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary– this one made me fall in love with our Blessed Mother!

Liberalism Is A Sin by Fr. Felix Sarda Y Salvany – this one opened my eyes to why the world is so misguided.

Purgatory - Explained by the Lives and Legends of the Saints – made clear to me how desperately the poor souls in purgatory need our prayers and offerings.

And of course, My Imitation of Christ – my daily medicine.

God bless!

Consoling the Heart of Jesus by Fr. Gaitley

This book smacked me over the head with Divine Mercy and changed my life.

Katya’s short books where Christ dictates to her in many of them, and the video of her stigmata all linked in my signature have deepened me the Catholic faith enourmously.

List of Katya’s Books free to read online.
IMPRIMATUR
is Latin for “Let It Be Printed” When a Roman Catholic Bishop grants his “Imprimatur” to a printed work, he assures the reader that nothing therein is contrary to Catholic Faith or Morals. This Imprimatur is not given lightly, but only after a thorough review process. All books offered on this site have been granted the Imprimatur.
IMPRIMATUR:
We have read Catalina’s books and we are certain that their only objective is to
lead us all on a journey of authentic spirituality that is based on the Gospel of
Christ. The books highlight as well the special place the Blessed Virgin Mary, our
Mother to whom we should offer our complete trust and love, as her children that
we are, and our role model in how to love and follow Jesus Christ.
At the same time as they renew our love and devotion to the Holy Catholic
Church, the books enlighten us on the actions that should characterize a truly
committed Christian. For these reasons, I authorize their printing and distribution, and recommend
them as texts of meditation and spiritual orientation, so as to yield much fruit
for Our Lord who is calling us to save many souls, showing them that He is a living
God, full of love and mercy.

I especially like the books on the Eucharist, as the Church teaches us that to miss mass when we could have easily been there is a sin, however Christ does not want us to attend mass out of fear, he wants us to attend mass and recieve him because we want to, because we love him, because we want to recieve that incredible gift that he gives us at every mass celebration (Eucharist), Christ does not want people to be forced or guilted into going to mass, he wants us to go out of love, he doesn’t want the mass celebration to be some routine that lacks all enthusiasm, he wants it to be another unique and loving encounter with him.

Thank you for reading

I’m reading it at the moment and it is mind-blowing-ly (soul-blowing-ly? haha 😃 ) good. Very illuminating, still incredibly relevant, and without a doubt a spiritual classic.
