My wife ordered Catholic Digest for me. Sorry, but it puts me to sleep.
I don’t particular enjoy it myself, though the couple of times I have had the opportunity to read a copy, I have found something of interest. In my own personal opinion, it is a bit ‘Catholic-Lite’ for my taste.

I refer to their website quite often and find the information to be very credible and usually contains the same stories on Zenit and other good sources.
Oh no. I’m a giant schmo! 😊 I meant to say The Catholic World Report. That is the magazine published by Ignatius, I think. Is this the same as Catholic World News and its website? 🤷

I also purchase our diocesan paper, not to mention This Rock Magazine and US Catholic occasionally. I miss Catholic Parent Magazine which was truly helpful.

Well, I am quite surprised. I see that no one reads the** L’ Osservatore Romano** (English edition) which is a must since it has the latest speeches of the Pope and great articles to read and digest. I am very impressed with that newspaper and with what the pope has to say. For example, in the January 31st edition, there was a great speech by the pope about **‘The beauty of the truth about marriage’ **and in the same edition, there was a great article about ‘Educating children to confront media challenges’. That newspaper is a must for every catholic if they want to keep up with the latest info from the catholic church.

Sorry no one here reads it. I am the only one who voted for that newspaper at the moment.

I have never heard of that publication. Is it available for home delivery only or is there a website? Is it a newspaper or magazine and how often do new issues come out? The examples you have delivered are intriguing.

You can subscribe to the newspaper. The phone number in the United States is: (443) 263-0248. It is the phone number of the catholic foundation. Also, if you google the newspaper name, you can read the first page of the English edition from the net. It will give you a taste of what the newspaper is like.

The newspaper is a must if one wants to read what the pope has said that week and other great news items and articles. But it is not cheap since it is a weekly newspaper. It comes straight from the Vatican. Happy reading.

I read Liguorian & The Catholic Answer magazines. I get my pryaerbooks, etc from Catholic Book Publishing in NJ. For seasonal prayer guides (Lent & Advent), I use the special Magnificat editions.👍

You may view L’Osservatore Romano here. In some of the larger bookstore chains in my area, they stock papers from all over the world including this one.

The reason I don’t subscribe is that I receive news from several Catholic sources, many of which include the same news. (Zenit, National Catholic Register, Catholic World News, etc.) Nothing like having the news from THE SOURCE, though!👍

New Oxford Review and The Wanderer. The Wanderer has very interesting articles from time to time, for example, a couple on the link between witchcraft and abortion, and one on so-called “clinics” where the rich go to get fetal cell injections. Chilling. :crying:

Also, Inside the Vatican.

Many thanks to Why Me and Kell0618 for the info on L’Osservatore Romano. I have a link to the Vatican’s web site in my favorites, but I haven’t explored the site fully, obviously. Now I can get this news in PDF format, which is great.

Thanks again. 👍

I get *Columbia *magazine, which I get free as a member of the Knights of Columbus.
I also get the St Augustine Catholic, which is sent free monthly to members of the Diocese of St Augustine, Florida. Karl Keating even did a nice little write-up about it in one of his E-letters.

The only one in that list I have ever seen is L’osservatore Romano, but that’s probably because I live in Britain.
I read
the Universe
Sacred Heart Messenger
St Martin’s magazine (when I can get hold of it)
The Crusader
Bible Alive
The Tablet
I have to go to a Catholic bookshop to get most of them, but it would be so nice to pick up a copy of a Catholic newspaper in my local newsagents!

No problem. Unfortunately, many catholics don’t read it. If it is in a catholic bookshop, I would certainly buy it. The information is great. You will only get the first page on the web. And the first page will only give you a taste of what may be inside. I think that it would be great if catholics had a newspaper from Vatican City in their home.

I get the Wanderer too.

I love the NC Regsiter, and tried a subscription to our Sunday Visitor. While there are a few things in it I enjoy, I will not renew. I don’t think it’s as orthodox as it could be.

And of course, the Rock and the CUF Lay Witness publication.

NATIONAL CATHOLIC REGISTER: I like the fact it’s a broadsheet and has good, faithful quality articles and opinions. Delivery is erratic, though; maybe that’s the US Mail. (I read this whenever I actually receive it in the mail.)

NEW OXFORD REVIEW: Very good but I don’t have the patience to read through pages of academic-type articles. (They are good, but not for me.) The shorts, book reviews and letters are great reading. (I do not purchase this any longer.)

CATHOLIC NEW YORK: Archdiocese newspaper. Moderate in tone, though leans conservative/traditional. Decent source for what’s happening in the area. (I read this periodically.)
