Well go back and look at post 119 again. Underneath the quote is this:

***From The Catholic Library of this site:

catholic.com/library/Celi…Priesthood.asp***

So my quote is attributed.

I gave my source under the quote.

It’s all there - quite clear to read, click on and see.

You appear to have missed it.
That’s what I was saying. I did miss it. I normally expect the source to precede the quote as vBulletin does with “Originally posted by”, or at least be embedded in the quote.

With me, you can expect the unexpected 😃

CCC #846-#848
:hmmm:
171. What is the meaning of the affirmation “Outside the Church there is no salvation”?

846-848

This means that all salvation comes from Christ, the Head, through the Church which is his body. Hence they cannot be saved who, knowing the Church as founded by Christ and necessary for salvation, would refuse to enter her or remain in her. At the same time, thanks to Christ and to his Church, those who through no fault of their own do not know the Gospel of Christ and his Church but sincerely seek God and, moved by grace, try to do his will as it is known through the dictates of conscience can attain eternal salvation.
Also from the catechism of the catholic church:
847 This affirmation is not aimed at those who, through no fault of their own, do not know Christ and his Church:
Those who, through no fault of their own, do not know the Gospel of Christ or his Church, but who nevertheless seek God with a sincere heart, and, moved by grace, try in their actions to do his will as they know it through the dictates of their conscience - those too may achieve eternal salvation.337
848 "Although in ways known to himself God can lead those who, through no fault of their own, are ignorant of the Gospel, to that faith without which it is impossible to please him, the Church still has the obligation and also the sacred right to evangelize all men."338
818 "However, one cannot charge with the sin of the separation those who at present are born into these communities [that resulted from such separation] and in them are brought up in the faith of Christ, and the Catholic Church accepts them with respect and affection as brothers . . . . All who have been justified by faith in Baptism are incorporated into Christ; they therefore have a right to be called Christians, and with good reason are accepted as brothers in the Lord by the children of the Catholic Church."272
819 "Furthermore, many elements of sanctification and of truth"273 are found outside the visible confines of the Catholic Church: "the written Word of God; the life of grace; faith, hope, and charity, with the other interior gifts of the Holy Spirit, as well as visible elements."274 Christ’s Spirit uses these Churches and ecclesial communities as means of salvation, whose power derives from the fullness of grace and truth that Christ has entrusted to the Catholic Church. All these blessings come from Christ and lead to him,275 and are in themselves calls to “Catholic unity.”
As I said to OTCA, context, everything must be taken in it’s proper context.

Like many Catholics, I am challenged to accept some of the man made rules of the Church without question. I have issues on some counts and won’t hide my views. I hope I don’t suffer as a poster by the moderator’s fines, but somehow I think I may.
You keep posting about the “man made rules” of the Catholic Church that you disagree with.
Care to list some of them?

Thanks Jimmy. It was difficult today to read a post suggesting I should be excommunicated and not a Catholic really by a poster who has over 6000 posts. You have over 3000. I’m quite mild in my posts but will defend my views, but if I do it in a mild way, I likely will not make it to 100 posts here. I don’t know how you do it to attain all of those. I guess it’s a pecking order. Like many Catholics, I am challenged to accept some of the man made rules of the Church without question. I have issues on some counts and won’t hide my views. I hope I don’t suffer as a poster by the moderator’s fines, but somehow I think I may. I probably should post my email addy in my profile here so I don’t lose communication if that should happen with the good people here I can learn from. I just would appreciate some warning from them before they AX me altogether so I can bid my fond farewell to those I’ve contacted here.
Hello again,

I’ve have some negative points myself. Don’t worry about getting band…you seem like a nice person, I don’t think that you will be band. Also, keep in mind that, if this site weren’t moderated the way that it is, it would be like all of the other trash on the Net. The is a friendly, "G rated” place where people of all beliefs can debate their differences. It is refreshing to have a safe site like CAF, where people are charitable towards one another….Elsewhere, on the internet, we are bombarded with rudeness, foul language, obscenity, name calling and so on….Just think before you post. Prepare your comments in a “Word” program, then cut-and-past into the post response part at CAF…proof read your stuff a couple times and you’ll begin to do what I do , which is,. I try to moderate myself. Good luck friend!

God Bless!

Didn’t I say ROMAN? Or do you just skip over words. :shrug:Whoever follows the pope, is a Catholic.
One is a Latin Rite Catholic priest, the other is a Ruthenian Byzantine Catholic priest. They are in full communion with the Servant of the Servants of God.

Neither of them live in Rome. 😉

The Anglican communion openly supported the use of abortifacients for decades by denying blatant facts. Now parts of the Anglican communion have appointed active homosexuals as clerics. Isn’t that what this thread is about, and what you are trying to divert attention from?
I’d watch throwing the word homosexual around like its only a liberal Protestants problem. The absolute most homosexuality that has taken place has ironically been in the Catholic church. From the child sex abuse scandal that turned rampid over decades all the way down to Catholic monisteries being the oldest know homosexual clubs for men. You speak out strongly against it but yet the stain of it is bigger on you than on anyone else.

This is blatantly false. The Anglican Communion does not sanction what the Episcopal church and other liberal churches do. If it did there wouldn’t be the turmoil that is presently going on in the Communion.

The “poor us” thing again. I get it for sure.
Don’t worry the Pope is the head of the Church. For Protestants it is Jesus Christ. They have the Magesterium and we have the Holy Spirit.

Wait…the Orthodox theologian considered the Pope the first Protestant. OMG the dude was a schismatic.

Seriously, 1holycath you must realize that you are just using *words *and that perspective is important. I agree with Jimmy that charity is important. We need to be respectful. JPII was respectful of other traditions. The EO can consider the RCC schismatics who caused a huge mess in Christendom (not to mention developing strange doctrines to tickle the ears), the RCC can consider the EO to have left them and be in schism, and the Protestants (whatever that means) can consider the EO & the RCC to be unbiblical churches that have incorporated pagan practices but we should all treat one another with respect. When Jesus comes back we will find the answer. Somehow I bet this infighting among his church is annoying but expected. Human nature.

Urban myths are alive and well in this post:rolleyes:

The larges sex abuse group are parents, sad to say. Teachers are up there to and Protestant clergy surpass the Catholic clergy. Your other charge on monisteries is also a lie.

You simply have nothing to refute that. It is common knowledge in many circles. And the Protestant clergy charge?? The biggest thing in the world of news for a while was the Catholic child sex abuse scandal. Can you show me any one other church that has paid out over a Billion dollars in damages to victims?? I didn’t think so.

The Anglican communion is in complete meltdown in part because of Vicki Gene Robinson a man who publicly left his wife for a man and then was appointed to his current position.

Your months old splinter group wouldn’t exist otherwise.

The Catholic Church teaches, as it always has and always will, that homosexual acts are disordered and sinful. Vicki Gene Robinson is proof that that leaders among the Anglican communion teach that homosexual acts are acceptable.

The Episcopalians are part of the Anglican communion. Fail.

You’ve failed to answer the question regarding the use of abortifacients. Why is that?

Christ’s one and only Church is the Catholic Church.

Just put your Catholic trunks on and swim in your pool of deceit and rhetoric. They keep the temperature nice and high so you’ll be most comfortable.🙂
