All of my encyclopedias and history books must be wrong. http://s3.amazonaws.com/advrider/Oscar.gifWikipedia too (not that it’s much of a source.)You don’t honestly believe that.

No that is not correct. All is welcome to receive the Eucharist. Please do not lie about my Church. But tell it like it is. In order to receive the Eucharist you must understand what you are receiving and in order to receive it you must not have any grave sin,I have been to your church and it turns me away from the Lord’s Supper. [SIGN]Yes, I am a sinner, but there is God’s grace for me at the foot of the cross. Praise God! [/SIGN]Only at your church have I ever been told them I am not welcomed to receive the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ through the eucharist. Jesus would never turn me away but would welcome me with open arms to His table.
God Bless!
I don’t care if its a fact or not. ITs messed up thats what it is. And it is unacceptable for any faith. Just because the RCC is the Church that Jesus left us does not mean sinners will not try to bring it down. You are quite right. There are some non-Catholics that do teach this.
[SIGN]But as it is also a fact that some priests are pedophile[/SIGN], I’m sure you won’t object to simple statement that parrallels yours such as: Priests (and you know who you are) do in fact practice pedophilia.
Surely you would object to such a statement, because it is written in such a way that it ignores the fact that the number of priest guilty of practicing this is very small compared to the total number of priests. Such a statement, while factually true, does not truly characters who priests are nor what they are about. The same applies to your statement. While factually true that there are Non-Catholics who teach that all gays will go straight to hell, it does not truly represent the predominant set of beliefs and teachings of non-Catholics regarding those who have a gay lifestyle.
So, perhaps you will understand that just as I would expect many Catholics to take offense to such a statement regarding priests, so I take offense to your statement regarding non-Catholics.
Hi rinnie,No that is not correct. All is welcome to receive the Eucharist. Please do not lie about my Church. But tell it like it is. In order to receive the Eucharist you must understand what you are receiving and in order to receive it you must not have any grave sin,
In not letting you receive the Eucharist is not turning you away, it is not letting you condemn yourself. All you have to do is go thru the RCIA class and become Catholic and understand what you are doing and then you are welcome.
THe Priest has a promise to God to teach the faith. You must understand what you are doing before you do it. The Priest just wants you to have full knowledge of what you are doing. IF you do a valid confession and are free from sin then you can take the Eucharist.
Its no different for us.[SIGN][/SIGN] And yes you are correct there is GOds grace at the foot of the Cross. And also another Grace he left us the sacramemt of confession. Peter said it clear repent and confess your sins, And eat the Body and Blood of Christ. It has never changed. It is the same today as 2000 years ago.
Sure emeralcoast. To put it in my words, and to make it simple a grave sin is something that can stop you from getting into heaven. Its mortal.Hi rinnie,
Just for the sake of this post, will you please list what the Roman Catholic Church teaches that are grave sins. Thanks!
God Bless!
But, of course.ignore.
Well Good question. Would a gay marriage not be considered a mortal sin?Which Christian denominations support mortal sin, I know of none?
If one did not believe that gay marriage was a mortal sin and their intent was to truly be married and not enter into a sinful relationship but truly intend on entering into a state of holy matrimony…is it still a mortal sin or does it move to venial?Well Good question. Would a gay marriage not be considered a mortal sin?
“Gay marriage” is a euphemism wrapped in an oxymoron.Well Good question. Would a gay marriage not be considered a mortal sin?
So if one is “invincibly ignorant” about the matter of it’s sinfulness…they are still culpuble of a “mortal sin”?“Gay marriage” is a euphemism wrapped in an oxymoron.
Homosexual behavior is objectively disordered. It’s sinful whether someone thinks it is or not.
Teaching anything otherwise is an act of malice.
If the truth were not revealed to him no. But Jesus did not leave us orphans. He left us the CHurch and the CHurch teaches that this is indeed a mortal sin.If one did not believe that gay marriage was a mortal sin and their intent was to truly be married and not enter into a sinful relationship but truly intend on entering into a state of holy matrimony…is it still a mortal sin or does it move to venial?
As I understand there are certain things that must take place before a person truly is culpuble for a “mortal sin” and I believe “intent” is one of them…they must know they are sinning…is this correct?
This is a serious question.
I totally agree with you. But the point is it has been revealed to us through Jesus Christ and through the Catholic Church. That is the big difference.“Gay marriage” is a euphemism wrapped in an oxymoron.

I think I understood the Catholic difference…just wanted to get the skinny from a Catholic. If the truth were not revealed to him no. But Jesus did not leave us orphans. He left us the CHurch and the CHurch teaches that this is indeed a mortal sin.
It could be considered venial if the truth was not revealed. But once it was revealed the Person would have to repent confess and not continue in the sin. If they did, then yes Mortal. See you are beginning to understand the difference![]()
416. In what does the natural moral law consist?I totally agree with you. But the point is it has been revealed to us through Jesus Christ and through the Catholic Church. That is the big difference.
Whatever it is you are reading must be wrong if it proclaims that there were no known Celtics practicing prior to the Roman missionaries coming to the British Isles. Is this what you are claiming? All of my encyclopedias and history books must be wrong. http://s3.amazonaws.com/advrider/Oscar.gifWikipedia too (not that it’s much of a source.)
How about the homosexual abuse of minors?“Gay marriage” is a euphemism wrapped in an oxymoron.

Kind of a dumb question isn’t it. You know very well that it is a serious sin and a serious crime. Is this the only response that non-Catholic, protestants have? If the Catholic Church turns out to be Christ’s one true Church, and all Christian truths are contained within Catholicism, on Judgment Day, your response to rejecting those Christian truths found in Catholicism will be pointing your finger at other human beings who have sinned. Good luck. How about the homosexual abuse of minors?
