Not sure… what times are offered?
Yeeeee! I’m not sure!
Father Ben said (now let me think), Sunday Dec 24th there will be no 6:30 or 8:30. They will be 4:30 and Midnight. Christmas? Oh geez, I don’t remember. I just know it’s 9:30 for us.

I’ll PM you as soon as I know.

Does the Christmas Eve mass count toward both sunday mass and Christmas day mass? I ask because it’s very difficult for me to attend 2 days in a row because I have no one to stay with my husband who is very ill.
I’m so sorry but no it doesn’t.
One must attend two masses. There is a thread on this.

But speak to your priest, he may be able to give you some help or dispensation!

We typically go to the 4pm Christmas Eve mass on the way to my mother’s to celebrate Christmas Eve with my family.

But maybe we’ll go to the 7am Christmas Day to avoid the Christmas and Easter people.

It really worked out well this past Easter.

Hopefully, our priest won’t trip on the hem of alb this time, fall flat on his face, and send Communiopn flying everywhere!

We usually go to 5:00 Mass Christmas Eve, have CE with the whole family, and then have Christmas Day at home, so kids can open presents and play for a long time without having to abandon all of the toys and get ready for Mass.

I wanted to start a poll about the personal choices that we will make for this Christmas Mass. I will probably attend the vigil one at 6:00pm because my wife will be a cantor. However, I want to attend on the 25th too because the Gospel reading is taken from John 1:1-18 and that always takes my breath away. I get really emotional every time I read it or hear it. I apologize in advance if I will not be able to post the poll and it will look like a regular thread.
I haven’t voted yet, since I work for the post Office and am not sure of my work schedule for 24 and 25 December.

As an RCIA Candidate, I cannot take The Eucherist, so I doubt if I have any OBLIGATION to attend mass.

Nor am I sure what my local Church has planned fpr those two days. I will need to ask this Sunday.

Still, I should be able to attend something, in spite of the Post Office schedule. Just not sure what at the moment:(

We haven’t decided yet. With having to go twice, with my daughter’s birthday being Christmas Eve, and having a baby for the first time on Christmas, we may go to Mass for the first time on Christmas day. We’ll probably do a vigil Mass Saturday and then Christmas Day. We always did midnight Mass before, but we never had a baby who would be sleeping at 12:00 🙂

We are hoping the girls are old enough for Midnight Mass this year, so we can get good seats early. If not, we’ll be at the earliest Mass on Christmas morning we can find in the area.

SO: Saturday evening and Sunday night; OR Sunday morning and Sunday night; OR Saturday evening and early Monday morning; OR early Sunday morning and early Monday morning.

I will be attending the midnight Mass that will be held at 8 PM on Christmas Eve.

Our parish doesn’t have a Midnight Mass.
Instead, a 5pm and 10pm Mass is offered.

I’m still trying to decide which to go to.
My extended family expect to come here Christmas Eve for dinner & open gifts (extended family tradition). I’m leaning toward the 5pm to be back in time to have dinner & open gifts by a reasonable hour.

Kicking everyone out so we can get to the 10pm Mass doesn’t seem nice. LOL Plus, my kids probably would be on a sugar high after all the dinner desserts and I’m not willing to go through that at Mass.

Oh, and I’m considering going to the Christmas morning Mass, too.

Our latest Mass on Christmas Eve is at 10:30 pm. We always attend this Mass, which is just beautiful. Then we return home and open our gifts. (Kids are in college, so no little ones.) I’ll go on Christmas morning as well and then host family at our house.

The San Diego Traditional Mass Society will have Christmas midnight High Mass this year at St. John the Evangelist Church, as well as Christmas Mass at dawn and Christmas daily Mass both at the Holy Cross Chapel. I will attend midnight and dawn Masses. I would personally like to thank and extend best Christmas wishes to Bishop Brom for his continued support of the Traditional Mass as well as his outstanding running of the San Diego Diocese in general.👍 👍

What time zone has a Midnight Mass at 7 PM. It has to be at Midnight to be a Midnight Mass - 🙂
Well, you’d think so, wouldn’t you? I guess our parish is just progressive in many ways, huh?

It is interesting that if we look at the number of people that voted and the number of Masses that will be attended it appears that 30% of the people will go twice to the Christmas Mass. This is the reason why I love the people in CAF, because even when we disagree on a lot things we know what our duty is. I just wish that ALL the people that call themselves Catholic would attend at least one Christmas Mass. That would make my Christmas really special.

Well, I intend to attend Midnight (and likely at least one of my sons, possibly both of the ones who are altarboys–youngest yet too young–will be serving). Christmas morning, we’ll all go, but I think midnight’s too much for 5yo children (my twins).

I say amen Cristiano. We post, we discuss, we argue sometimes heatedly. But we do it for the same reason overall. We care about the faith, most of us, passionately, and it means a lot to us. It is more than something we do on Sundays and a few other times. It is for many of the single most important thing in our lives.

A indult if I can find one or a Eastern Catholic Divine Liturgy…sad to say I’m through with the Novus Ordo…until Rome disciplines Bishops who carry on as usual and ignor RS…

I always go in the evening. I’d like to go on Christmas Day (excluding Sundays), buy my family never goes – we usually have people over, and go to my dad’s side of the family on Christmas).

Pax vobiscum!

I selected both evening and midnight Mass. I plan on going to the evening Mass at Holy Rosary because my friend will be singing with the choir, and then going to midnight Mass with my family at St. Matthew’s.

In Christ,
Rand
