I will go to which ever one my Mom feels up to attending. She has some health problems and will visiting for Christmas, and I want to attend with her.

So, it may end up Saturday evening and Sunday evening or Sunday morning and Monday morning. I wish she could attend both midnight and Monday morning, but her health will prevent her.

We will be going to the Children’s Mass on Christmas Eve. Our Religious Ed classes had a Christmas projest this year and they are presenting it during that Mass. The children gathered donations to buy a sheep for a village. I just love this project!

We will go whenever the boys are serving. Usually, we go to the 4 pm Christmas Vigil. After that we go to my SIL’s, have gumbo, and open presents from the family there. On Christmas we open presents at our house, and then pack up and travel to my parents’ about an hour away for dinner and more gifts.

I have tried to get my children to understand that we could very well be at Mass twice on Sunday. (That being the case, maybe I should finish shopping on the 23rd this year.)

I like the Midnight Mass. I’ve heard that our church’s Christmas Eve Mass has the building stuffed to the rafters.

BTW: There’s several (almost all of them) chruches in my diocese that have their “midnight mass” at 9 or 10 pm.

I will go to the midnight Mass, since I will be singing in the choir.

I will be at the evening mass at my church. we actually have 3, yes count 'm 1…2…3 evening masses on dec 24. our choir director’s arms will be very tired since there will also be 3 morning masses to celebrate the 4th sunday of advent. anyhoo, I’ll be at the third mass which is at 7pm. I sing with the small choir that does the 8am masses on Sundays, so this is our mass to sing at. I love midnight mass, but I just can’t stay up that late anymore. I used to go all the time when I was a teenager because we have an hour of caroling before hand and I love that and could stay up until 2 am without blinking an eye back then. aaahhh, getting older now 🙂

The San Diego Traditional Mass Society will have Christmas midnight High Mass this year at St. John the Evangelist Church, as well as Christmas Mass at dawn and Christmas daily Mass both at the Holy Cross Chapel. I will attend midnight and dawn Masses. I would personally like to thank and extend best Christmas wishes to Bishop Brom for his continued support of the Traditional Mass as well as his outstanding running of the San Diego Diocese in general.👍 👍
You’re lucky to have a good bishop. My wife and I have been attending St. Boniface Church most Sundays, Pittsburgh Latin Mass Community. 😃

This will probably be the first year we go to Christmas day Mass. I am expecting it to not be so crowded. Is this your experience?? Our area churches here actually have Mass in the highschool auditorium b/c of the number of Christmas Eve folks.

At my parish the earlier Christmas Day Mass (9:00am) is less crowded than the later day one (11:00am). But I’m sure it varies from parish to parish. Our parishioners definitely prefer to go to Mass on Christmas Eve. This year we have Mass at 4:00pm, 6:00pm, 9:00pm and Midnight.

When I was a child, we were never allowed to open any Christmas presents until after Mass, as Jesus always came first. It always drove me nuts to wake up Christmas morning and see all those presents around the tree, but not be able to touch them until after Mass.

When I got old enough, we started attending Midnight Mass, and then we would open our presents when we got home. We would get to bed between 3 and 4 AM.

I serve at the Life Teen Mass in our parish, and the Christmas Life Teen Mass sill be at 5:30 PM on Christmas Eve, so that’s when I’ll be going.

My husband and I will go to Midnight mass and also to Liturgy Christmas morning.

I enjoy both, and as a famiy tradition, after midnight mass, I place baby Jesus in the manger.

Also, after morning mass, we eat sweet hot bread and open gifts.

Merry Christmas!!

Sue…
🙂 I feel for our priest in the area… in Middleburg, we also will have 3 evening services Christmas Eve, as well as 2 in the morning and a midnight mass. But only one on Christmas.

🙂

We’ll have four morning servies (Sunday), 5 Christmas eve services including midnight, and 2 Christmas day. But we have 4 priests to our parish…

I’ve never been to a Christmas Eve mass, but my parish has 4 of them and they are all packed from what I’ve heard. I’m glad it’s my family tradition to go to the ONE mass Christmas morning, when the church is 1/3 full or seniors. I can appreciate it much more when I’m not squeezed in like a sardine. 😃

I just love Morning Mass on Christmas. I went to Christmas Eve only once years ago and I felt strange not going on Christmas morning.

I will most likely attend both the midnight mass and the 10:30 A.M. masses.
