And for that matter, which documents declare some of the other Scripture verses that have dogmatic interpretations?
Thank you!Start with the Vatican website. It has a list of Church documents. Also, any good Catholic study Bible has footnotes. Those will help to lead you to good sources for proper interpretation of Holy Scripture. Hope this helped. I am a former Protestant Fundamentalist who converted in 2004. My interpretation of the Bible was turned on its ear. I am still learning and I love it!![]()

Baptism - The Catechism of the Catholic ChurchAnd for that matter, which documents declare some of the other Scripture verses that have dogmatic interpretations?
I thought there was a document that specifically declared that as an authentic interpretation. Aren’t there like 6 or 8 verses that have this character?John 3:5 was what I believe to be one of the only passages in which all of the Early Church Fathers held in unison to the reference of baptism. There was no debate about this among the creible Fathers and only after the Protestant Reformation did we find those who opposed this teaching due to their “faith only” stance. So check the writings of any Early Church Father and you will see this evidenced…teachccd![]()
