That may have been a rumor invented by detracters. Origen made many people jealous during his time. Most allegations against him usually turned out to be false.

Still he was known for allowing little quarter in personal piety so it would not have been beyond him. We really don’t know though.

I’m Justin Martyr too. It’s a good fit seeing as how I’m very laid back and don’t have a bad temper at all.

A favorite quote of mine from him:

“How does it touch you who profess to be both an orthodox person and my admirer, if I am a little too sharp upon heretics, and expose their tricks before the public? You should rejoice in my invectives: otherwise, if you are vexed at them, you may be thought to be yourself a heretic.”

I have been looking for a book on prayer and do have some but this is unique, but martyr :eek: but only in God’s timing the will of the Lord I try to live. And I fail but get back up after I am on my knees praying for forgiveness oh there I go… 🙂
