Scripture…you might want to try it sometime, instead of man-made teaching…

but hey…I’m not changing my mind and neither are you, so…
Well, at least you admit that the information you give is wrong. 👍

Then your beef is with Christ. God help you. The Catholic church has **never changed any doctrine **, but Luther has. The Reformers have changed the bible, not the Catholic church.

Thanks for referring to Paul, as I think you need to re-read it and understand it. I am absolutely Scripturally correct in my assessment.
Perhaps, then, you could give us a Protestant spin on “Christ’s Mystical Body” as outlined in St. Paul’s writings remembering, though, that your explanation will be your own private interpretation of Paul’s doctrine and not that of any self admitted fallible Protestant pastor.

Speaking of man-made teaching please show us, from an historical point of view, where your doctrine regarding the nature of the Church was ever preached.

my “beef” is with your church, so I feel pretty good about my relationship with Christ.

oh geez, guys come on, how many times do I have to say it…READ THE SCRIPTURES!!! Your church does allow that these days, doesnt it?

We Catholics have read the Scriptures quite well. We know how to interpret, but it is you that can’t get it straight.

And why do you go for the low blow? (your church does allow that) That is low, my friend, that is low.

Could you please explain to all of us why the RCC is wrong, and why you, an individual, is right?

You keep saying to read the Scripture to see why we are wrong, and yet you can’t seem to do it yourself.

I want to see evidence why the Church is wrong.

How is that a low blow? Come now. How is the Church wrong?

Papacy, papal infallibility, denominational arrogance, Immaculate Conception, Assumption, confession, transubstantiation, works vs. grace, the obvious adoption of Stoic philosophy…need I go on?

You’re avoiding my point. I want SCRIPTURAL evidence why the Church is wrong. Not examples.

And it was a low blow.

Let me explain:

Back in the day (pre-Vatican II), the Church put heavy restricions on who could read and Interpret Scripture, and who couldn’t. But, after Vatican II, those restrictions were generally lifted, and more people can read the Scriptures without the Church’s help.

So, by saying if we can even READ the Scriptures is a low blow.

Isn’t it wonderful how Christ has left us these beautiful gifts. Now, what did he leave you in your church?

Why, He left me His Word, He left me His salvation, His love. Why, didnt he leave that with you guys?
Oh, I believe He did. Only He left all that with us, and then you guys come along and kinda tried to take it. But we held onto it.

nah, you guys gave it away a long time ago…you know, when you went more for polotical power and land ownership, and so on

Actually no, by your own admission, it points out that the church was about nothing but control. Thanks for proving the point.

You keep dodging legitimate questions. Please tell us where you have found your non-Catholic doctrines regarding the nature of the Church in the Bible. Be specific! In doing so, be advised, that you will be giving your own fallible interpretation of Scripture which any thinking person can either accept or reject since it would be your own personal interpretation. Additionally, you would be espousing your own personal attempt at establishing your own personal tradition, a specific teaching authority if you will. Tell us all why we should believe in your interpretation of Scripture. Are you claiming some sort of infallibility for yourself? Where is that in the Bible?

I am prepared to show to you, and very easily at that, the Catholic position from biblical sources.

BTW - The Church encourages us to read the Scriptures, daily in fact.

Christ promised to remain with His Church until the end of time. Unfortunately, some members of His Church rebelled against it and formed human institutions claiming to be His Church. These human institutions, commonly known as Protestant, have been around since the 16th century. They are nowhere to be found before the 16th century. Your knowledge of Church history is showing to be seriously deficient.

That does not prove anything! The Church was not “all about control”. You are looking at us from an outside perspective. Take a look inside and your view will change.
