I thought that it was NFP which can deprive children of brothers and sisters?
Nope…helps one to provide them.

A great gift to help married couples who are infertile or otherwise to seek to have more children. Especially certain highly advanced forms -which can help even to diagnose the problems.

St John chrysostom talked about How sex is NOT just for creating babies. He talked about the other purposes of sex. I. Suggest you read his beautiful homily on marriage.
His homily on marriage is beautiful indeed. May I suggest that you research what he has to say about contraception as well?
Accordingto the roman cCatholic view anything other than popping out babies is a mortal sin. l.
I think you have a tragic misunderstanding of the Catholic understanding of sex and marriage, as well as a misunderstanding of the historic Orthodox position on contraception. If you’re going to look at what some in the Catholic Church might have taught at one time in history regarding sex, you really must look at what the entire Orthodox church taught regarding contraception until quite recently.

In 1929, there were 9 marriage annulments in the USA, Presently, it has run as high as 50,000 marriage annulments per year in the USA. I don’t see any other faith experiencing such a huge increase in marriage annulments over the same period of time.
I don’t have those stats Tom, perhaps you could present them. You do remember you have discussed this exact same subject with me not that long ago?

Other churches have all accepted that contraception is acceptable, there is nothing in the bible that says it is wrong. The church IS obsessed with such matters. You shouldnt have to abstain or only have sex when you are not fertile, that takes the spontaneity out of it and that isnt natural. Sex is not just for makung babies, some couples dont want children, they should be wanted not forced on people. Its absolutely fine if couples do not wish to have a family. Its not for everyone.
Not very spontaneous to slip on a condemn!

Great point I have always thought doing as such or poisoning my body with abortifacient pills did not sound remotely spontaneous. ( Nor any other birth control devices such as making Dr Appts to get an IUD and whatever else is out there now)

Good Grief, no way. I’ll stick to the truth in the Church Catholic and the Bible.

It was my understanding prior to the 1930 Lambeth conferences all Churches and denoms were against birth control. I’d have to go back and look it up though and stand corrected.

Mary.

And remaining single Tom, and contraception and abortion and selfishness and abstinence. But only some of these things are wrong.

Don’t know the date, but I believe the rest is right. The preponderance, if not all, the Christian churches understood the same truth from the earliest days, until one yielded to social pressure and so reversed its teaching. Others did the same for the same reason.

No one seems to address the fact that the majority of catholics contracept anyway.

Its not the 1930s anymore its 2015

And every person has sinned. Does this mean their acts must actually have been good?
Contraception is only a sin in the eyes of the Catholic church. But the fact is that hardly any catholics take any notice of it. At least I left and didnt carry on receiving the eucharist as I was told on here that c I shouldn’t.

There was a better adoption, which you rejected.

So in other words the majority of cathol7cs should not be receiving the eucharist.
