Which do you prefer, daily Mass or Sunday Mass?

I love them both.

Daily Mass has all my friends, everyone is very reverent, and the priest speaks from his heart - it’s lovely and quiet. We also have the Rosary and the Angelus, and on Fridays we have Adoration.

Sunday Mass has all the “pomp and circumstance” with the Gloria and the Creed, flocks of altar servers, bells, incense, music, etc., and everything else that makes it fun to be Catholic.

My daily mass is the student Mass and I always enjoy what the priest teaches the children about the days readings and I have learned much from just listening to him. He asks questions of the kids and I am pleasantly surprised about how much they are familiar with the teachings.

I also agree with another poster who said…there seems to be more reverence at daily Mass. The people WANT to be there and I don’t think I would even hear a cell phone going off or seeing anyone chewing gum. Young mothers come with their little ones after dropping the older children off at the school. It has a nice “feel” to it.

I love both masses. But sometimes I find that people are more reverent at the daily. It’s very quite and spirtual…I have no problem focusing, plus it always puts me a great mood for the rest of the day!

I do love Mass every day.But daily Mass is either at the parish or hospital chapel which is very nice. Sunday Mass is in the big round church with mega distractions and terrible music and liturgical abuses that are not seen at the daily Mass. More must be endured on Sundays.

But the most Holy Sacrifice takes place every day which is the greatest gift in the world.

I love both, like other folks for different reasons.
I can only get to daily Mass occasionally because of my work schedule, but I love the reverence there. We don’t have kneelers, and yet at daily Mass, almost everyone kneels. That doesn’t happen on Sunday. I like the more intimate feel of the daily Mass because the group is small and a pretty regular group.

However, I love the Sunday Mass because my husband can attend then, and I love the music, having the altar servers, the incense, etc. I do wish Sunday was a little more reverent. However, just before Mass begins, our choir director asks us to take a moment of silence to prepare, and that seems to quiet most of the talkers down.

I enjoy both for different reasons…both more personal than theological. I enjoy daily mass because of the quiet and simplicity of the mass. I also tend to look at this as “my quiet time with God.” There is rarely any music, it’s short and doesn’t require much participation on my behalf…other than paying attention and our response to the prayers, the mass offers a lot of quiet reflection time. Sunday mass, for me, although I enjoy it, is much more “work.” It’s longer, there are many more people…thus distractions, and more of a call to actively participate. Sunday mass is an opportunity for me to receive Eucharist but is also an opportunity for me to connect, worship and serve my faith community. I am fed by Christ in Word and Sacrament…and if I don’t allow myself to become too distracted and self-centered; I am also fed by the community in worship. Hopefully I am pulling my weight and doing the same for someone else.

I love them both, but love Daily Mass the most because in the rare times I actually make Daily Mass daily - thats five to six Masses a week! Much better than one.

I like both and wish I could go to the daily mass more often.

I like daily mass because it is more quite, less distraction.

I like Sunday mass because there is professional choir and nice piano player playing. Also, the priest spends a lot longer on his homily.

OK, this poll is mainly for daily Mass goers.

Which do you like better?

Sunday Mass (including Saturday vigil), because you want to say the Gloria and the Creed and sing and enjoy everybody being there?

Or daily Mass because it’s quiet and people only come because they want to? Or because Sunday Mass is too long and too much?

Or you love both for different reasons and couldn’t possibly choose?

I voted both equally; however, I do enjoy the Rosary before the daily Mass as a group and to be honest - the lack of music. Our Sunday Mass is becoming a “professional” production after the hiring of a professional music director.
