:)St.Augustine because, like myself, he was promiscuous and irresponsible as ayouth ,but turned away from his sin and tried to make up for his past by living a life of total holiness. Due to the prayers of his mother,Monica,he rejected the insidious Manichaen teachings , wrote The Confessions and became the great Bishop of Milan.

Aquinas. is there any question? really? St. Thomas is simply beyond cool.

St Therese of Liseux, The Little Flower, Her little way makes working toward becoming a saint attainable.👍

Which doctor of the church has inspired you the most and why?
== St. Augustine, because of his doctrine regarding grace and predestination; and St.Alphonsus Liguori, because he is quite simply astonishing. St. Cyril of Jerusalem, because of his “Catechetical Lectures” and his pastoral approach to the Semi-Arians. And St. Thomas Aquinas.

Is St. Paul allowed to be chosen : ) ? ==

How do we find out more about your dialogue on mystics and register for it on beliefnet? I just checked the site and did a few searches but could not find any reference to it. Many thanks for the information.
Log onto Beliefnet/community/dialogue groups/sign up now/interfaith dialogue. The title is christian and other mystics. I do not go as Hermit on BNet.

Someone suggested that I do a dialogue study group on Thomas Merton, however, I felt that was too restrictive so I opened it up to all Christian Mystics. Dialogue groups are closed after sign up is complete. The posted length is six weeks, but I am involved in groups that started back in October. As long as there is activity, BNet will keep it open.

I look forward to your participation.
