I’m watching season one of Star Trek Voyager. I’ve viewed all of the original series, animated series, Next Generation, Deep Space Nine and the movies, so this and Enterprise are all that’s left.
My sister and I watched Miss Potter a week ago. We both loved it! The little animations of Peter, Jemima, etc. were so cute and just perfect!A variation of What book are you reading. I’d like to get some reviews on some movies, whether it’s a new release or an oldie but a goodie that I may be overlooking at the video store.
Just finished:
Miss Potter - based on the story of Beatrix Potter. A nice little story that was very enjoyable. A wholesome movie. And can Ewan MacGregor be any cuter?
Molokai is such a wonderful movie, one of my all time favorites. Fr Damien is my role model. I took his name as my confirmation name back in march. I want to be a missionary doctor, so it really fit.JAG-Season 3
Mork & Mindy -Season 1
Molokai:The story of Father Damien (great movie by the way)
Dinosaurs 1st & 2nd Season
The Muppet Show Season 1
(note: We don’t have regular TV so we watch a lot of dvd’s)
Hey, weren’t they great? We just finished them last night and I have the menu music running through my head :hypno:Dinosaurs 1st & 2nd Season

I agree about David Wenham -I also liked him in Lord of the Rings.Molokai is such a wonderful movie, one of my all time favorites. Fr Damien is my role model. I took his name as my confirmation name back in march. I want to be a missionary doctor, so it really fit.
David Wenham (he played Fr Damien) is such a good actor, it’s a shame you really don’t see him in many other movies.
:yup: I remember watching them back in the early 90’s. My daughter who is 11 loves them too. She tells me,“Mom, you had much better shows on TV when you were a kid.” Although I wasn’t really a “kid” when Dinosaurs was on TV.Hey, weren’t they great? We just finished them last night and I have the menu music running through my head :hypno:![]()
I’m thinking about getting Dinosaurs!JAG-Season 3

Tried to watch “Padre Pio: Miracle Man”. There were so many liberties taken with this saint’s life that I finally said, “BASTA!” (“enough!”)Watched “Airplane!” last night. Needed a giggle.
Netflix is sending “Padre Pio: Miracle Man” on Tuesday. I can’t wait to see it!
Hmm…I really liked the movie. Can you point out what you objected to?Tried to watch “Padre Pio: Miracle Man”. There were so many liberties taken with this saint’s life that I finally said, “BASTA!” (“enough!”)
I don’t need my saints gilded by film maker’s standards, thank you.
I will be more vigilant in future.
I love the actor Sergio Castellito (see him in “Mostly Martha” - a wonderful movie). My first red flag with this film was the device of the inquisitor priest harrassing Padre Pio on the day he died. OK - it was a useful way of getting the story started. It never happened. The film portrays Padre Pio’s father confessing adultery to his son on his deathbed (this can be nothing but fiction, as confessions are sacred and sealed - plus, his father and mother were very devout and saintly and devoted to one another). The film also portrays Saint Pio as having some sort of romantic obsession with one of his spiritual children. By mixing in some flagrant lies with, I’ll admit, great acting and some truth here and there, I found the film to be very unsettling, and a useful tool for the uninformed to make judgments against a very holy man.Hmm…I really liked the movie. Can you point out what you objected to?
Regarding “Mostly Martha” morphing into “No Reservations”: can someone tell me why American film makers re-make perfectly wonderful movies into hack jobs? It’s like they don’t have any imagina…oh…uh…never mind.**I had a Jane Austen fest this week. BBC Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Emma was checked out, so I got Clueless instead. Forgot how funny that was.
Thanks for the reminder of Mostly Martha, I’ll have to rent that. Am not looking forward to the new version with Catherine Zeta-Jones and Aaron Eckhart.**
