Any First and Second Class feast of the Lord may replace a Sunday of the II Class. II Class feasts of the saints do not replace the Sunday.Hi TP, it’s the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. ( Class II Feast)
Any first or second class Feast may replace the Sunday Mass when it falls on Sunday. The exceptions of course would be Sundays of first class. For example, the four Sundays of Lent.
AJV,
I was hoping you’d respond.
It’s not obvious to me why today’s feast is “of the Lord.” Rather it seems (to me) better to classify it as the feast of a holy relic. How am I mistaken? Is there a list of feasts of the Lord?
