None of them overly thrills me. But I think I prefer the second girl.

The first girl reminds me of the look typical of the German exchange students our school hosted back in February.

*The blond girl with the yellow shirt…that is relatively how my 13 yr old daughter dresses, without the sweater. I think it’s modest, also. *

I wasnt thrilled by any of those either but would say a combo of 2 and three

hmm. i personally would wear something like number four, but with something to make it a little less “lumberjack/Nirvana”. Typically I only wear skirts or dresses anyway, so maybe a plain dress instead of the white t-shirt and jeans. And minus the beanie.

Okay, I know it’s not particularly “feminine,” but I’m partial to #4. It makes me nostalgic for my high school years, when “grunge” was the big thing. (yeah, yeah, I wore thermal underwear, acid wash jeans, Doc Martens, and a flannel shirt around my waist. Not pretty and prim, but my dad appreciated the rather non-boy-appealing look.)

Also, I live in Alaska, and that stocking cap looks like it would be sooooo warm.

As for just plain cuteness, though, #2 has the claim on that.

I prefer #2. If it didn’t have holes in the jeans. I don’t understand that whole buying jeans that look old thing. (And I’m 23 so you’d think I’d get it…) Just seems like a waste of money to me.

I would like #1, but I can’t stand skinny jeans. For #3 I don’t like the high heels or tight pants, I like the shirt though. Then I just really don’t prefer #4, I’m assuming those are name brand clothes, but they don’t look like something I’d spend money on.

Just my opinions!

Me too…I don’t like clothes that come pre-“broken in”. If I am going to pay good money for 'em, I’ll put holes in 'em myself!

I wish there was an option 5 or something. Maybe I am too old to post here. Or too old fashioned? I don’t mind 2 of the four, but that is only based on having 4 choices.

I feel like I have more options of choice on laundry detergent.

I dislike the fabric of the trousers on #1, #2, #3 and #4. It feels like they have less than trousers on. It’s more like pyjama bottoms or some kind of hose to me.

#1 would be lovely if the trousers had some form of their own. She would be the Style Queen of the four.

#2 would be great without the jeans being torn and with a bit more of feminity to it. She would then be the girl next door, which is an endangered species by now.

#3 looks nice but the trousers aren’t that great - it makes me wonder how on earth could they be comfortable to wear? They’re both too clingy and they seem to crinkle in some places. The blouse could use a more decided fabric.

#4 would be another girl next door if the jeans were less stretchy and there were no cap. A little bit masculine for my preference. IMHO, in that style of clothing, women should either 1) wear decidedly ladies’ versions of trousers or blouses or shirts, or 2) wear precisely the male shirt. This may sound surprising to you, but I think that when a girl wears a men’s shirt, then it’s obvious she’s wearing a men’s shirt (from her father or brother kinda - this sort of impression), whereas if she wears a slightly emasculated version of the men’s clothes, it just looks bad.

I don’t have the time to go through fashion sites and show you something both modern and nice to the eye, but remind me one day and I will. As it is, I just have too much work to do this week.

Some ideas (for girls mostly):

no bland stretchy fabrics for trousers, that’s just not good; use trousers that have a form of their own or wear a skirt or dress instead, really;
generally don’t go for the “silly” look - bring out the best of your age, experience, wisdom etc, trust me it’ll be better that way ;
try not to offend good old good manners too much (no wearing a cap indoors, please)
don’t be afraid to wear something that looks like a ladies’ piece of clothing;
if you want to wear a men’s shirt, get a real one;
take a careful look in the mirror and make sure that cuts like in #3 don’t allow bra straps or any other underwear to show - people may tell you it’s no big deal in the modern times, but you don’t receive guests in sleepwear, do you?
if you call me shallow, I will lecture back.

Besides, the models aren’t quite teenagers, they look like they’re each 25, which makes them look silly, which is probably a contributing factor to not giving that great an impression.

It’s nice but people could complain about it being a bit too clingy. I say it depends on the final impression. It probably doesn’t look the same on every girl.

The rest of the dresses seems too private to wear outside (some of them might be OK for the garden or the beach), too pyjama-like, too exposing (particularly the cleave is too big on almost all of them).

Nice. The back is much better than the front. Some people could complain about the length and I can see where they’re coming from.

I have a problem with most of the rest. Once again, many have too much cleavage, some are too short, others generally look like there’s not enough fabric, a couple are too Lollita-ish. And a couple are just badly cut.

Anyway, the view is limited and I don’t have a woman’s eye. Just an example of what I think about jeans: not too low, not too skinny, generally not drawing too much attention to the curves, some showing off might be okay if it’s kept in control (e.g. the neverending legs idea if the rest is modest), bell designs can be cute, jeans cut after the shape of suit trousers look good too. Anything that has “hot” or “skinny” in the name does so for a reason.

And I can’t see why it’s juniors given that most of the models are 25 and the designs fit precisely that age category anyway.

None of those styles seem very unique… they all have sort of an “edgy” or “grungy” feel… not bad, but just not a very good spectrum of different styles.

#4 but only because I’m a tomboy at heart. I wear mostly skirts now but that outfit is something I would have worn during my highschool/college years and will still wear on occasion when I’m not pregnant. Don’t care for the ripped jeans look though… as someone said, I’ll break them in myself thank-you-very-much.

All the rest are wearing too low cut shirts, IMHO. Girls today are NOT taught how to bend over at the waist while wearing a shirt like that. They all bend over and all you see is the inside-of-the-shirt-that-shouldn’t-be-seen parts.

I like #3. I could see my daughters in that, though maybe with more practical shoes.

I think #3 looks polished and classy, but still young.

I really have no issue with clingy, “skinny” jeans. If they fit right and look nice, then fine.
