Which "Historical Jesus" author/view do you agree with the most and why?

Now, going back a little to the Historical Jesus subject, which “Historical Jesus” author/view do you agree with the most and why? And how do you think the real Jesus would distance from the Jesus from the canonical NT?

Of those I know of, I would have to say Joseph Ratzinger/Pope Benedict XVI. There are a few claims in his Jesus of Nazareth that I am skeptical about, but he certainly takes a good, balanced approach to the subject.
