Well, I always let the Holy Spirit guide me to the books that I should read. When I’ve done this, the books were a great help. When I didn’t, I struggled through the book and just gave up trying to read it. Years later, when I was ready, I picked up the same book and was well fed.

So, my advice, pray for guidence, then look through any Catholic source and let your heart lead you.

Hi:

Everybody should look into interiority. I’d highly recommend, therefore, “Augustine,” by Fr. Benedict Groeschel, available at EWTN. It really is very good.

Also, if you’d like to read a very amazing adventure story about truth, get “Our Lady of Guadalupe and the Conquest of Darkness,” by Warren Carrol. Mr. Carrol is a brillant author. It’s hard to say too many good things about this book. You will really like it.

It all depends on which certain subject you might be interested at the moment. From the short message you posted, it would seem to me that an excellent inspirational book for you would be “The Four Loves” by C.S. Lewis. Its basically about love and the different kinds of love from a Christian perspective. To me it was real eye opener because in this society we misuse and misinterpret what love is really about.
