van hands down

it’s newer and bigger

don’t forget it probably won’t just be your kids you’ll end up hauling around - friends, travel bags for a family of 10 even just for a weekend can be a lot, buying grocery/non grocery stuff in bulk (we have to drop stuff off at the house at least twice when making the twice a month major shopping trips.)

I’m trying to talk dh out of selling our 12 passenger for a newer one. It’ll be paid off, so I say drive it until it drops dead rather than add debt. BUT he might be able to talk me into a newer used 15 passenger, if he can find a great deal for one in good shape. now that we’re a family of 11, that 12 passenger van we bought way back when we were a family of 8 is starting to seem a wee bit cramped!🙂

The GMC or Chevy models are considered safer b/c of the wheel base. Technicly they don’t tip on turns as easily.

**BUT the real safety issue with 12/15 passenger vans is not in the construction, but in the driving. The real reason they tend to roll over is because some people tend to drive them like a minivan or worse … like a sedan. **

I voted for the 12 passenger. I mean, you’re having baby number 7. Whose to say baby number 8 won’t be far behind? 😃 Seriously, I wouldn’t want to buy something and then outgrow it in a year or two.

I’ve still got one spare seat in my mini. I keep trying to talk DH into filling it up. 😛

Agh, a bad time to bring up another pregnancy!! I’m getting into that miserable time…And, I am 39.

But, point taken. It is also frustrating not to be able to offer rides to other kids.

There are other aspects you need to think about too. You need to consider insurance. Which car is going to be easier/cheaper to insure? Also, if you need repairs done, can you find someone to repair the limo at a reasonable price? According to another poster, limos are custom and this translates into expensive or impossible to repair. Also, how much does a tag cost for each car? Does your state have ad velorem tax? If so, how much is that on a limo?
