French. Any language which makes you smile when you are being cussed out in it has to be the best.😃

The language God speak.
This is only tangentially related, but I like it, so I’ll share it anyway.

My parish recently had a Divine Liturgy in Church Slavonic. Father began the homily in this way:

A long time ago in a school very far from here, three students were discussing which language we will speak in heaven. One student suggested Hebrew, as it is the language of God’s chosen people and the language of most of the Bible. Another suggested Latin, as that is the liturgical language of most of the church. The third insisted that the language spoken in heaven will be Church Slavonic, since any language used to address an ineffable, inconceivable God ought to be difficult to pronounce.

American English is the most beautiful language ofc.

:compcoff:
Perhaps the American English our forefathers spoke, yes, otherwise the American we speak today has been butchered, ***sometimes ***without understanding a single word an American is saying.

IMO

You mostly mentioned western langagues but what about non western langagues?

French most definitely,

I love Spanish, Italian, Latin, Arabic, Aramaic

I like English most. I have studied French for 5 years and can tell you it is definitely overrated.

Honestly the real question is whether there are any ugly languages. I can’t think of any language I have heard that is downright harsh to the ear. As for the least beautiful languages, I would have to say any of the East/Southeast Asian languages. I just don’t find them particularly pleasant.

It is amusing to see so many people try to make an objective answer to a subjective question.

😃

Latin is more helpful in term of studying the root of other languages.

Beautiful is a relative term. The complexity of Icelandic is beautiful to me, and I like the sound of it better than the romance languages. Navajo has to be one of the most beautiful languages in the world in terms of sound and complexity, though.
