Sorry Moderaters, but I have to add more Saints to the Polls because I think I left our some important ones. Same rules.

Thank you for remembering St. Max!
But you forgot my dear St. Anne!
Also, what about the Fatima children?
And what about PJP2?

Thanks for a cool thread. 😉

St Bernadette Soubirous
O my God, I get you, by your loneliness, not that you may spare me affliction, but that you may not abandon me in it.
When I encounter affliction, teach me to see you in it as my sole comforter.
Let affliction stregthen my faith, fortify my hope, and purify my love.
Grant me the grace to see your hand in my affliction, and to desire no other comforter but you. Amen.
At age 18, I took the name Bernadette for my confirmation. I really just liked the name and had seen the movie, “Song of Bernadette.” Not real good reasons.

This past week, I found out that I have Celiac disease. Maybe God knew something that I didn’t. :o;)

Still missing my two favorites Padre Pio and St Anthony… BUT no one can out shine Our Lady, no way, no how.

In a poll such as this I think you should have said, “Apart from Our Lady which saint most inspires you…” because no other saint comes close to her.

So, leaving Mary aside (just for our purposes here) I too must vote for St. Marie Bernard (Bernadette). She remained faithful under circumstances most of us could not have handled in the way she did, and yet she goes pretty much unnoticed in our day. A great pity when her life and words have so much to teach us. I believe she is Fr. Benedict Groeschel’s favorite, as well.

You are right. I should have put that because she is the Queen of the Angels.

It’s tough to choose a favorite between Francis and Francis. But I have to protest that you can’t possibly leave out Teresa of Avila !!!

You can choose both and Teresa is on another poll on the Saints by me.

I would have to say Mary is my favorite saint, but many saints inspire me for different ministries that I am involved or interested in.

For example,

Mother Mary - Generally everything.
St. Padre Pio & St. Michael - Spiritual Warfare
St. Francis deSales - Apologetics
St. Cecil - Music ministry

You are certainly right about Mary. One of the saints that inspires me most is St. Joseph. His humility and faith in God in accepting the Immaculate Conception and his loving care of Jesus as He grew up is a lesson we all could learn.

Quick question: When was Padre Pio made a Saint and what is his Feast Day? Thanks!🙂

I think you meant the Virgin Birth. I don’t think St. Joseph would have known about the Immaculate Conception in his time. That is the doctrine that Mary, from the first moment of her conception, was without sin.
