There are many saints that inspire me daily. 🙂

The saints that inspire me the *most *are ** Mary **and **Joseph **as they were the first followers of our Lord.

There are other saints who inspire me:

Also, St. Francis of Assisi. I love the book, “A Perfect Joy of St. Francis”–its a really old paperback book (from my parents era), but it is timeless. The pages are worn because I’ve read it so many times already.

There is also, St. Therese of the Child Jesus–I am praying a novena to her right now. She lived an exemplary life.

There is also, **St. Benedict **and **St. Scholastica **from whom I got my favorite motto" Ora et Labora (Prayer and Work).

St. Matthew—he is the saint on my birthday! So every time I attend mass on my own special day, its his story I hear.

There are also people who I believe a already saints that have not yet been proclaimed as saints by our church. They are:

**Pope Pius XII **= I think he was a courageous man.

**Pope John Paul II **= I think he really deserves the name “The Great” as he touched so many lives and brought many closer to God, including myself.

I chose St. Therese of L. becuase of her humility too. I try to model her acts of love toward people who are hard to love and find that it really brings great blessing into my life. Also St. Monica, becuase she was the mother of a saint and with persistant prayer, prayed her son to the faith!
petitfleur = little flower

Nice!!! 👍

I’ve seen St Monica on here a few times, but do not know anything about her… can anyone help with a link?

I would have to say St. Francis of Assisi, most notably because of the purity of his love and his simplicity in living.
Always preach the Gospel and when necessary, use words.

St. Stephen
He boldly proclaimed the Gospel and did so with irrefutable wisdom. When I first read the account of him in the Acts of the Apostles I was deeply moved and inspired. I took Stephen as my Confirmation name, my oldest son is named Stephen and my youngest son was born on his feastday. My parish church is also named St. Stephen’s.

Excluding Mother Mary and St Joseph because they are in a special class all by themselves, it’s hard to single out one saint because I have so many favorites.

But I’ll choose one and say St. Anthony the Abbot. I have a special love for him, very dear to my heart. He’s a great saint, a true master of the interior life, one of the greatest excorsists of all time. Nothing could take away his love for God.

Could I create one more saint thread without getting in trouble?

St. Therese. When I changed my name some 14 years ago, I chose her as my patron.

She didn’t try to “save” herself. She surrendered herself to God and just loved Him and received His love. She kept herself little and humble so that God could carry her to salvation. She was also the patron saint of Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta, who also kept herself little for God’s glory.

St. Augustine of Hippo is the Saint who most inspired me. His early life paralleled mine sadly and through reading Confessions I found a great help and guidance through his example.

It was an Augustinian who first introduced me to the loving grace of Jesus Christ, and it was that same monk who taught me why it is so important to live our lives with Christ at the center.

Two others that I have been studying are St. Padre Pio and St. Francis of Assisi

It’s impossible to list them all - the Catholic Saints are so wonderful, courageous and inspiring. They taught me how to be a great Catholic!

St. Monica
St Polycarp
St. Helen (Helena)
St Dominic Savio
St Maria Goretti
St. Rose of Lima…

I have read so many books on the Saints that they are with me always, interceding for me. I love them!:angel1:

St. Augustine!👍

His book Confessions is great and I highly recommend it!!! 😃

Blessed Virgin Mary, always, single-handedly, no competition. Recently St. Joseph more than before. Pope John Paul II (yes, I know).
