Which is worse, one lost soul in hell or war on earth?

At stated by others here, a soul in hell is lost forever. In times of war, there is still hope for redemption. Just read the end of The Screwtape Letters by CS Lewis and you will know what I mean.

Deacon Tony560:
In Today’s Gospel, we are told by Jesus to expect wars. We will save our souls by how we respond to difficult times. The war that needs most attention today is the war against the unborn.

I see this as a trick question, because war can lead many souls to Hell. How can you compare the two? Is Hell worse than the ravages of war? Yes. War kills many, however, and I doubt that every soul is prepared for death. You must be careful in making such broad comparisons.

earth and everything in it is temporary.

Heaven and Hell are permanent.

War is the the product of choices made.
There are agressors and victims.
No one knows how many souls involved in war are won or lost.

But we do know that God longs for all souls to return to Him - enough so to come down to earth as man and to die in order to make way for souls to join Him.

Jesus did not come to end earthly wars. He could have, He didn’t. In fact, He knew Christians would be slaughtered in His name. He spent His time here revealing His Father to us and calling us to keep our eye on the prize.

So, obviously, one lost soul is worse than war on earth.

I would imagine one lost soul would be. Aside from the fact that its permanent, war tends to bring out the best and most noble characteristics in people. Look at Oscar Schindler, look at Karol Wojtyla (JP2). John Paul 2 was formed in WW2 into the man we knew and loved.

The loss of even one blood bought soul is beyond cataclysmic 😦

One lost soul in hell.
War on earth.

Hi Steve,

I think this is a false dichotomy.

God bless
