Which Mary is the St. Mary parishes are named for?

It just occured to me that as Catholics we don’t seem to refer to Our Blessed Mother as Saint Mary. Not that she isn’t a saint but we have so many other ways of referring to her. So when you see a parish or school named Saint Mary’s, which Mary do they mean?

If there is no other identifying information to go by, it is fair to assume that Mary of Nazareth, the Blessed Virgin Mary, is the “St. Mary” in question. When another Mary is referred to, such as Mary of Bethany or Mary Magdalene, either her place of origin or her full name will be used.
