I grew up saying confession on Saturday and attending Mass every Sunday morning at 8am sharp, and did that for decades.

Now as an adult, I attend the St. Anthony’s Shine in downtown Boston, a working man’s chapel, which holds Mass several times a day, seven days a week. So now I sometimes go to Mass three times a week, and the Stations of the Cross twice a week.

Those Franciscan Friars are hard working, and took a pragmatic view towards the Mass, making it available to the working public, and it is very successful.

7:30am every Sunday! 😃

I love the early morning light filtering through the stained glass windows, the lingering smell of old incense, the creaky pews and, most importantly, the SILENCE, the reverent, worshipful silence before Mass starts. Gives me a chance to get reacquanted with Jesus in the Tabernacle. :gopray:

Either 5pm Saturday Vigil or 11:30am Sunday morning. I wish my parish had a Sunday evening mass. You wouldn’t believe the acrobatics I have to do at work some weeks to get time to go to mass. 11:30 is the latest.( And the only daily mass is at 6:45am. This is me at that time most days:  )

The other parishes in my area are like that too. I didn’t even know they had Sunday evening masses until I read it on here!

There are only two times availible at our church. We choose the 7:30 pm on Saturday night. There are more children and it is easier on our foster child to go in the evening when he is tired then at 8:30am Sunday when he is FULL of energy…😉 Who am I kidding… It is easier on my husband and I because the little one is tuckered out and calm… We tried 8:30 mass twice… DISASTER… The first time we said we would give it another try… The second time…:banghead:, What were we thinking???

We only have one option here where I live. There is no Saturday vigil Mass here, but we do have the possibility of going to the nearest town.

Our Sunday Mass starts at noon. That’s the one and only time 🙂 .

11:00 AM contemporary rite in English

I wish we’d have a Mass every so often done with the contemporary rite in Latin. I’ve been to two elsewhere and it was beautiful.

BTW, can anyone show me an official Catholic document that refers to the current form of the Mass as the “Novus Ordo”? I thought this was a term used as a jab by rad-trads.
