Hi, this is seems to be a recurring problem for our family during Assumption Day for some reason and we even ended up missing the mass this year.
For instance, we attended Sunday Mass on Aug. 14 in Hong Kong, where Assumption Day is celebrated on August 15 itself. However, that night we flew off to Singapore where we suddenly recalled that Assumption is never celebrated on Aug. 15 but on the preceding Sunday. Hence, we didn’t go to church at all, and I’m wondering if maybe we should have gone on Aug. 15 anyway.
What I’d like to know is: Is it more important to attend the Mass celebrating the Feast, or simply to attend Mass on the day of obligation regardless of what Mass is being said?
Thank-you!
