Which of these bishops should be Pope?

but, it is not our decision. and it is a grave sin to campaign for pope, so noone knows who is in the running.
 
I DID NOT VOTE.

But I would vote for Ratsinger or Arinze(sp?) The one from Africa!
 
I like Arinze too. I loved this quote of his from his commencement address at Georgetown in 2003 (which he took heat for):
In many parts of the world, the family is under siege. It is opposed by an anti-life mentality as is seen in contraception, abortion, infanticide and euthanasia. You can’t be serious about Law and Mahoney and I don’t know anything about the other two.

I vote for Arinze.

It won’t be Mahoney because Christ promised us that the gates of hell would not prevail against the Church.

In addition, this poll is in poor taste. Our Holy Father is demonstrating to the world how one should embrace times of sickness, aging, and dying. However, please note. He is still our Pontiff and we should not be talking as if he were out of the picture. Instead we should be praying.

Of course, I have my own opinion on what kind of man I want to be Pope. But I think I’ll leave it up to God. I have a feeling he knows a thing or two more than me. 🙂

As you say, John Paul II is a great witness to a worldwide culture of death that would just as soon see people like him rounded up and disposed of. Not out of compassion for the suffering, but so they don’t have to see the suffering. It makes some people soooo uncomfortable.

Please pray for our Pope. :gopray2:
 
Is Bishop Fellay in communion with Rome now? I seriously doubt anyone with SSPX past could make it.

Also, I doubt a non-Cardinal could make it, let alone a bishop who isn’t an archbishop. Deacons have been elected, but that was in the past.
 
I do not know who Fellay or Husan are and I would hope that Law and Mahoney. I agree that this should not be discussed now.
 
I voted for the only real Catholic in the poll. One choice has been excommunicated, and two others should be. It’d be interesting to see an Eastern bishop become Pope.

I never did like this “who would you want to be Pope” questions…
 
I love either Arinze or Ratzinger. Both know how to tell how it is and proclaim the truth.

Wonder what would happen if the Pope were of a non-Latin rite… Would he automatically personally gain Latin rite celebration “license”?

I live in a neighboring dioces to Mahoney, and have had many ocaissions to witness his politics, and I don’t see him becoming Pope. I won’t vote in this poll. We have a Pope. He is awesome, and very holy. The next one will be chosen by God.

I believe so. The pope becomes the bishop of Rome, so I think that one coming from an Eastern rite could be described as being dual rite.
 
It was pretty obvious to all here in Boston that at one time Cardinal Bernard Law was being groomed to potentially become the first American Pope, but a lot has changed.

God is still in charge Kevin… I think that our current Archbishop could be a prime candidate someday…What do you think??
