The title “Virgin” would refer to the virginal conception of Christ or her state as a virgin at the time of His conception and birth. The continued use of the term in reference to her in turn referred back the the central even of her existence; the birth of Christ.That they remembered her with the title “Virgin” shows that they thought she did, though (and since ‘they’ were the people whom Protestants consider to be the “brothers of Christ” I should think that if they were, in fact, physical siblings of Christ, born of Mary, they would have known about that, and not given her the title Virgin.)
It doesn’t necessarily refer to her continued state as a virgin after that, though.
