AND it was written by Catholics.
Tell me, Rev - what church do you belong to? Give me a name because you strategically left that out in your profile.
This is very common among anti-Catholics on these forums so they can practice their hit-and-run apologetics.
Actually, it was written by apostles and prophets. For one thing, nobody can claim that Moses was a Catholic.

The NT was written by apostles and prophets; apostles by calling, and prophets because the definition of ‘prophet’ in religious terms is ‘one to whom God speaks, and who speaks for Him’

None of them called themselves ‘Catholics’ either.

That organization came around a bit later, y’know? At least, that’s how it is viewed by those who are not Catholic. I understand that Catholics themselves have a different viewpoint. I’m just sayin’ is all.

I have no problem with informed people presenting facts about a philosophy, religion, or political party. Your posts certainly fall into that category. You make a statement and then quote specific support for your statement.

Open dialog even between parties who disagree strongly is of benefit to both parties. I believe that by exchanging information about differing points of view one can make informed decisions about the civil dangers or benefits in those closely held beliefs.

That form of Islam known as Wahhabism does want to subject the world to an Islamic Theocracy. As such this sect can be extremely dangerous to civil society, and of course, Osama Bin Laden follows Wahhabism.
Well, so does sunni, shia, and many other sects of islam have those goals - read the koran and their history. their facade is peacefulness. True peacefulness is truth and that is the last thing they are doing on these threads.

I misunderstood what you were saying and thought you were trying to say something else such as debunking a religion was futile.

I even think that sometimes a thinking human being might have that seed of doubt planted in them and maybe they will look more into what is right and wrong. Unfortunately, in islam ‘right and wrong’ are so screwed up, mohammed broke so many of the 10 commandments (he was a pagan at the time so didn’t know them - but he was the one who was claiming that islam was an ‘abrahamic’ religion) that he redefined sin. The aura of goodness and virtue are put on vile and bad deeds (war is ‘opening up the world to islam and peace’ and thoughts (hatred).

We see in muslim countries that no one has freedom, except the richest of the rich who can have their sins hidden behind their gaudy palaces and also by leaving their dar al islam and traveling to dar al harb. (source: Princes of Darkness)

And the sharia laws are fashioned after the koran and hadiths and no law exists that protect their subjugated ones from any human right. Oh, they can keep their religion - but they have nothing else. Basically, we see them tortured, persecuted and killed even to this day - and nothing protects them in muslim countries. They are given a false sense of security with the muslim’s promise of dhimmitude - but that promise is obviously not kept when it is inconvenient for them.

Anyway, I diverted. I guess my passion is making sure everyone gets the correct information about islam, and too often it doesn’t come from the muslims themselves since their main job is to convert us or else the other two options are left to us… death or dhimmitude (subjugation).

There are other sects in islam that are not so imperialistic, but they have little or no voice - and don’t use their voices against the other, imperialistic ones.

wahabbism is in our Western counries. About 2 years ago there were already over 1,000 mosques and madrassas in our country alone that teach the wahabbi way. this is why our government is catching them with hate literature - they tell us one thing and do another. here is only one example: ‘moderate’ Sheik yusuf Al-Qaradawi preaching jihad in America (and it ain’t that ‘inner struggle’ kind!)

They are exporting wahabbi clerics into our countries too. They also fund such organizations such as the MSA (directly tied to the muslim brotherhood), CAIR, and many other organizations.

Oh well, like I said - I divert and I need to stop.

Thanks for the reply back.

Well - technically, you’re right - to a point.

The Old Testament was indeed written by Jews and Prophets under the old Law that Jesus came to fulfill.**
When he came, he built the Catholic Church on Peter. Matt. 16:18
Had they been alive on earth at the time of Christ, they, too would have been Catholic as they are now - as everybody in heaven is.

I was reading Doctrine and Covenants Sec 132 today, and it just about blew me away. This mormon scripture indicates that if you read this, and do not abide by it, you are damned, and it also talks about plurality of wives.

I had been mormon since Oct 30 1971, but I been seeing so many problems with that church.

I was just thinking, what do you find to be the easiest religion to debunk, and why do you find it easy to debunk?

Christianity.

As for reasons:
  • Its historical record gives the lie to its propaganda nonsense about love
  • It uses people for its own selfish purposes
  • Christians have treated each other with revolting cruelty that would put an atheist to shame
  • it makes enormous claims, which it fails abysmally to fulfil
  • It has prized doctrinal shibboleths above moral behaviour
  • It is hypocritical to the core, as is shown by the contrast between the modern smarminess toward the Jews as contrasted with 1600 years of persecution, legalised injustices, lies & slanders against them
  • It is incapable of looking honestly at its history - instead, it is for ever trying to show how it was right all the time
  • It has no conscience
  • Hitlerism & Communism arose from Christian ideas & within Christian countries
  • It is cowardly, becvaiuse it lacks the moral courage to admit its guilt - its very refusal to take responsibility is morally irresponsible, yet this something everyone has to to do
  • Which strongly suggests that Christianity is morally pernicious - which is indeed the case.
  • …and that is just scraping the surface
Judged by its fruits, it is just another tyranny; except that it is arguably worse than some of its competitors. Hitler did at least not claim to be & good & holy - so Christianity is in that respect less honest than he was; therefore, it is morally worse. It is no use pointing to the artistic value of some things it has produced - other religions have done likewise, but that plea has not recommended them. Why should it recommend Christianity ? If people were not prepossessed in favour of Christianity, & endlessly ingenious at excusing & justifying it, they would be as severe against Christianity as they are against Islam. If Islam is not divine then of course it is not going to be very pleasant - so its critics are reasoning absurdly when they criticise in it the very things it must be & do if it is not Divine. So that is not a problem: the problem is that despite its supposed Divine character Christianity has borne fruits which suggest it comes from a quite different origin.
Christianity might be beneficial among those without power to do much harm, & as the small Jewish sect it was at first; but as a politically strong & geographically extensive religion it has great power to do great evil.

Let’s use your logic:
The indented text in this post is the word of God. Do not attempt to adjust your computer. Hold yourself in a state of readiness by reloading this post every third Tuesday.
This text wrote itself. This text decided what it would say. This text declares itself the authentic.
You are attempting to usurp the authority of the indented text in this post.
How does the use of stupidity help your point?

Catholics wrote the Bible??? You REALLY need to learn about the BIble, because you have no clue. What exactly does what Church I belong to have to do with the discussion? This is a common practice with Catholics like yourself who dont know anything.

Well, now, that is the thing.

It is either you…or a restorationist system.

You might want to read the manifesto, sir.

That’s the whole point of having a prophet on the planet right now, y’know; God does not change, but people do–and policies do.

So 11 men(Apostles) who hid immediately after the crucifiction had the same dream, and then hallucenated at the same time even though they were not all together, Got tortured and killed not from something they believe but but something they saw?

That Paul a latter Apostle who hunted down Christians, was well off financially, a pillar in the Jewish commujnity, and a Roman also hallucenated, became a Christian, and went to his death.

It is harder to not believe my friend than to believe.

Religions based on others’ conspiracy theories. (you did this and that and our prophet corrects you kind of absurdities).

‘BUT IN VAIN DO THEY WORSHIP ME, TEACHING AS DOCTRINES THE PRECEPTS OF MEN.’" After Jesus called the crowd to Him, He said to them, "Hear and understand. “It is not what enters into the mouth that defiles the man, but what proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man.” Then the disciples *came and *said to Him, “Do You know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this statement?” But He answered and said, "Every plant which My heavenly Father did not plant shall be uprooted. “Let them alone; they are blind guides of the blind. And if a blind man guides a blind man, both will fall into a pit.” Peter said to Him, “Explain the parable to us.” Jesus said, "Are you still lacking in understanding also? "Do you not understand that everything that goes into the mouth passes into the stomach, and is eliminated? "But the things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and those defile the man. "For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders. “These are the things which defile the man; but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile the man.”
(Mat 15:9-20 NASB)

All religions or organisations that teach doctrines which are contrary to scripture should be easy to debunk because they are ultimately teaching the doctrines of men, not of God.

Religions are focused on the flesh which is often evidenced by numerous rituals rather than a simple submission to God’s will.

However, just as the Pharisees were blind guides, many religious people will not listen even as their religion is debunked…

I do not believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ever preached a religion

"It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.
(Joh 6:63 NASB)

Jesus established the Catholic Church. The Bible which you cite proceeds from the Catholic Church. Thank you for honoring the authority of the Catholic Church.

Well if Jesus did establish the Catholic Church (which I don’t believe He did) then its awfully different to what Jesus said and did in the Scriptures:(
By the way, can it actually be shown *from Scripture *that Jesus established the Catholic Church?🤷

The Bible proceeds from the Church, not the other way around.

1 often capitalized : of, relating to, or forming the church universal often capitalized : of, relating to, or forming the ancient undivided Christian church or a church claiming historical continuity. Roman catholic

That is websters definition and if you can find such a Christian Church that existed earlier please let us know.

The word Universal also is there and that means we are one.

If i go to a Catholic Church in the next town, city, state, or across the world we know what is happening and can paticipate regerdless of culture or language.

How many splinter Christian Churches can make the same claim?

There is only one Christ and Christ is the Church. One Holy, Apostolic, Universal, Catholic Church.he Church is infallible as Christ is Infallible. However men are fallible.

The Church is the same as it was over 2000 years ago.

Christ told Peter numerous times he was the rock that will build his Church, Christ told Peter to feed his sheep

So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Feed My lambs.” He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Tend My sheep.”
He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep.

Again forgiving Peter of the denail and restoring Peter as head. Exclusvely from all the other Apostles to take care of His Church

There are many other references in the Bible and the Apostles themselves incluuding Paul subject themselves as Peter being the head.

what a deliciously horrible topic, i thought it would be pretty mean spirited and it didn’t dissapoint…

to answer the question, for me personally it is any religion i’ve tried earnestly to study or hang my hat on as they are all nonsensical, illogical, contradictory, thoroughly crushed by scientific evidence, and typically bear horrible fruit.

god=good, religion=very bad is my take on the matter, and that’s all religions, no one in particular is more evil or ridiculous, they are all about as evil and ridiculous.
Why do you list yourself as Catholic?
