I was just thinking, what do you find to be the easiest religion to debunk, and why do you find it easy to debunk?

Well I don’t know about other religions, but for Islam, I think if someone searched thoroughly in Islamic sources, he/she would find many unrealistic and odd things.

Now why its easy to debunk:
  1. No reference for it from the previous scriptures.
  2. Contradicts all previous religions.
  3. Only understandable in Arabic language (which is not for all nations).
  4. Logically some teaches can’t come form God The Most High.
  5. The fruit of Islam is so awful (the long history proves that).
  6. Degrading of previous prophets, and making Muhammed the best.
  7. A warning about it (false prophets) from the previous scriptures.

I would 100 percent second that. Oh their is no love for islam in my house. Its really hard to deal with the blinded believers who justify the lies of their book and use it towards unsuspecting people like us.

Im sorry sam if their is no love for me on your former religion.😊

The one you know least about and have the most strawman ideas about. Something along the lines of “Christianity is wrong because Christianity supports cannibalism: ‘unless you eat my flesh…’” and so forth.

Every pseudo-religion ever.

Why are they the easiest to debunk?

Well there you have it.

  1. “Goddess-centered” neo-pagan type religions that claim to be revivals of religions practiced by ancient matriarchal societies. These historical claims can be ripped to shreds and ground into the dust with about ten minutes of casual research.
  2. Scientology
  3. Jehovah’s Witness
  4. LDS (Mormons)

Catholicism but only when "defended"by a non-catechised Catholic.

Catholicism but only when lived by a Catholic in Name ONLY,Cafeteria Catholic,Christmas and Easter Catholic etc.

Scientology. Sounds like science fiction, was founded by a science fiction writer, and operates strangely like a pyramid scheme.

Although the members are impossible to convert. I’ve found lately that the teachings of the Seventh Day Adventist Church are a big stretch. SDA seems to pick parts of The Bible that fit their teaching and ignore the rest. Maybe I’m wrong, but It’s almost like being a Jew, but somehow still believing that Christ is the Lord and Saviour. Also some of the extreme SDA members that constantly attack the Catholic Church state some pretty far fetched claims.

Islam, Scientology, Jehovah Witness because of their lack of logic

I hate it when someone comes along and pokes logical holes in what looks like a promising fight. 😉

The thing is, you are absolutely right: the easiest religion to debunk IS the one you know the least about and have the most strawman ideas about.

(grin)

Of course, your perspicacity has just made it impossible for anybody to actually claim that they HAVE an 'easiest religion" to ‘debunk,’ because you have just shown that anyone who does is showing his or her ignorance.

As for me?

The more I find out about other religions, the more I find that they all have some truth and good in them; I don’t need to debunk that…and if I think that they are wrong about something, it would be somewhat silly of me to point that out; I’d probably just get it wrong anyway.

I think Scientology is one - just look at who L Ron Hubbard was (failed science fiction writer) and the teachings (which mostly sound like - oddly enough - bad science fiction writing!) and the massive amounts of money charged to progress within the “church”

L.Ron complained that in order to make "real money"one would have to invent a religion.

  1. applies to RCCism, 6) could be applied in a sense to jesus, 7) is true and 3) would be true in terms of latin if it were not for the reformation.
However neo-pagainsm is easiest to debunk in many ways but some of it is grounded in a hint of history, however scientology would be the easiet due to L Ron Hubbards statement about the easiest way to make money!

The LDS and the JWs are the easiest to debunk. Of course neither one will believe the truth as you show them. For the Mormons, the feeling in the breast is above any logic you can present. For the JWs, pretty much a stone wall also cause they’re taught that when a non JW shows them the truth it is actually a lie and you are doing the work of the Devil without knowing it. So both religions have an “Iron Curtain” that is put there by their churches to prevent them from believing the truth.

jehovas witness.

although I admire their respect and fevor to their religion. And the younger kids who take a whole year to “evangalize”

but yeah, definitly the eaisiest!

or actually…
Free Masonary.
Very easy.
contradict themselves left and right!!! 😛

I’d call the easiest large religion to debunk the whole JW spectrum, because of the multiple false prophecies and lack of qualification on the part of their translation team. But they aren’t allowed to listen to opposition.
Then Scientology and every other new, tech-based or pseudoscientific system, because it’s so easy to find the evidence the founders were openly making it up, because it doesn’t work and because of the documents telling the middling levels not to share the real beliefs with newcomers, so how would they know they themselves even have the straight story on what thye’re promoting?
Around third or fourth I’d consider it a tie between LDS and similar religions, and Dan-Brown/Acharya-S/Joseph-Campbell theories, because the historic evidence is so overwhelming that they misrepresent religious history vastly at pretty much every stage and have changed their own stories constantly as well. Danbrownists also share with JW’s a strange resistance to looking at ancient historic documents at all without misrepresenting them in the crudest ways, and even seem not to notice that every historian is aware of the Roman custom of crucifixion, which has left unmistakable physical evidence. But they also tend not to listen to those who disagree.
Fifth easiest? Who knows. Islam, because of the lack of any witnesses to Mohammed’s revelations? Any other self-proclaimed, unevidenced founder-prophet, such as the Unification Church or the Children of God or Alamo…? Any other unqualified Bible scholar, such as Harold Camping or that guy Darwin Fish (real name) of “a-true-church” or Tim LaHaye or Dave Hunt…?
