One comes to the Catholic Church because they believe in at least some fundamental principles.

As a Catholic one of those fundamental principles is the mercifulness and love of God. If I am honestly trying to discern God and myself out of love, then I do not see why I will be punished. That discernment process has landed me straight in the Catholic Church and so I firmly believe that this is where the Truth rests.

Of course, you might say the same thing regardless of the answer to your initial question. What is it that you really want to know?

This is what you are being told by your pastor and others. Search history and study the Early Church Fathers. Then you may ask which is the “right” one.

excuse my ignorance, my partents are roman catholics and im in a state of confusion regarding my religion.

It is your ignorance we mean to relieve. I therefore ask again: what is it you want to know?

Could you be more specific in questions with what you’d like to know?

you know im not possitive

i just want to knwo more
That you want to know more is admirable. The problem is that this is an extremely broad topic not given to small posts in this or any forum. It would be better, for the moment, to focus on one specific thing that is giving you problems so that we may attempt to address that.

Many people throughout time have had doubts about their faith. As other have stated here this is to small an area to answer such a large Question. If your Question is Christianity verses another religion then you need to ask your self was Jesus telling us the truth or was he a liar. If its is the Catholic Church verse one of the thousands of Protestant churches then you need to study the history of the church. How we arrived were we are and were the Protestants came from. You say that your parents are catholic I take that to mean that you have been brought up with in the Church and have been receiving
religious classes through out your childhood. If this is the case then I ask what now is making you have doubts? There are many people here that can answer your questions, the best source of information would be your Parents, Parish Priest, religious educator in your parish, and the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

Also pray

Gloria in Excelsis Deo

PEACE IN THE LORD

Evidement mon ami! Une bonne observation, a mon avis!

Krissyy,

How can any of us know which religion is right when it comes to our salvation? Until someone who has been to heaven comes back to life and reveals that they were accepted into heaven, we won’t know. Unless you believe that Jesus Christ was that person and the Catholic church most closely follows his teachings.

In other words, Jesus’ teaching and His church is our proof that the Catholic church is the “right” religion.

The fact that you are asking this question means that you are coming to realize that what you believe is important and influences your whole life and the hereafter. I have been Catholic for more than 60 years and I firmly believe that the Church teaches what is true. From looking into history, I can see Jesus really lived. When I look at the history of the church, I see the apostles and others who personally knew Jesus and saw him after he rose from the dead, teaching what He passed on to them and dying for this. The apostles didn’t ever force anyone to believe what they taught but the Holy Spirit convinced people that it was true. And these people who had never known Jesus also accepted him and were willing to die for him. Read the Acts of the Apostles (after the book of John in the bible) and read some early church history.

Also, when you receive communion, ask Jesus to reveal himself to you and to give you more faith. If your parish or one nearby has a life in the spirit seminar, you could look into that. Or see if there is a cursillo. Both of these seminars teach you how to make God the center of your life. God bless you.
