Which saint is this?

I came across a statue of what I think is a woman with a puffy crown. She has what looks like a ball in her left hand and there is a cross on top of the ball. She has short, wavy hair and her right hand is holding up the index and middle fingers.

From your description, my guess is that this isn’t a statue of a woman but of Jesus, particularly if you can see short, wavy hair. (The Blessed Virgin is almost exclusively depicted wearing a mantle over her hair.) If it is a statue of Christ, then the crown and the globe represent his kingship that was accomplished through his Crucifixion, and his right hand is raised in a priestly blessing.
