My parish has a 5:30 Mass on Saturday evenings and an 8 and 11 am Mass on Sunday mornings. I normally attend the 8 am Mass because it starts off my day, and the 11 am is sometimes too late; I like going early and ending early and having the rest of my day to myself. Sunday is usually my only day to sleep in, but I like getting up early, going to Mass, and then coming home and relaxing.

A parish near me has a 6 am Mass on Sundays, and sometimes, I attend that Mass. There is no music, so it usually runs for about 30-40 minutes.

So, I guess I can say that I prefer earlier morning Masses over the later ones.

I’m lucky with my parish that it has Masses all day Sunday, otherwise I’d never be able to go with my retail schedule. If I have to work late, then it’s the 9:30am Mass, if I have to work early, the 8pm Mass. (Yup, 8pm Mass on Sunday.)

Since I work for a major retailor the 5:00 p.m mass at the Cathedral.

Early for me, 7.30 yesterday here in Italy. There were about a dozen people in our enormous, ancient church.

If you go to our 11am Mass here, you often find yourself part of someone else’s wedding or funeral! Last time I attended a wedding there (they are just part of the normal Mass, they aren’t separate at all from that), the male guests were all dressed in shiny dark suits, black ties and shades, with their black hair slicked back and the women were in the sort of creations you’d see at a grand event. It looked like a scene from a film. I was wearing very casual clothes and was trying to avoid being on their video. 😃

I like the 10:00 AM mass because it has the nursery open at that time. Couldn’t do without that nursery. My kids are so excited to go to church, which is a lovely feeling.

If I’m going with my wife and younger kids, the earlier the better. They tend to behave better shortly after they get up. With my teens? Then the Sunday evening Mass (the crack of noon is too early for them most weekends).

Personally I prefer the first Mass on Sunday (generally 7 or 7:30). They tend to be quieter and have subdued or even no music. We also have fewer people that look like they stopped in between the beach and playing soccer. The only later Mass I truely like is the Missa Cantata at the FSSP parish.

I like the Saturday evening Mass. We used to have a Sunday evening Mass, but not anymore. The Newman Center has Sunday evening Masses and I like to attend those. I don’t like the Sunday morning Masses at 8 and 10 and the Spanish Mass at noon. Too much traffic coming and going.

Due to my current work schedules, I go to a 5pm Saturday Mass as Sunday mornings are out of the question. My preference (and how I was raised) is Saturday evening vigil Masses (and only time that was not the case growing up is if there was a family thing on Sundays like a 1st Communion or the rare vacation). When my work schedule gives me normal weekends off, I will sometimes supplement the Saturday evening Mass with a Sunday morning or afternoon Latin Mass and/or a Eastern Catholic Divine Liturgy.

Our parish has one Mass on sunday morning 😃 I have also been to the one on Sat. While visiting other parishes, I usually prefer the earliest times because I am a morning person.

Saturday evening usually. If I go directly from work I can make confession, then mass.

I’m not a morning person. In 6 years as a Catholic I have attended a morning service twice. Sunday night is the time each week when I’m most likely to have something unplanned pop up. Attending Saturday night means I can attend whatever that thing is.

I am so envious of your mass possibilities! We have one mass on Sunday, 11:00a.m., none on Saturday.

I prefer the earliest possible Sunday Mass, which in my area is 6:30 am. However, my dear elderly mother prefers the 5:00 pm Saturday vigil Mass, and since I take her there (she no longer drives), that is the Mass we attend.

I prefer the 8:30 English Divine Liturgy at my church, but my family always goes to the 5:00 Divine Liturgy on Saturday evenings.

If I’m completely free to choose, the earlier on Sunday morning, the better. Crack o’ dawn is not too early.

Due to parish service, however, I’m not free to choose unless I’m on vacation. All other times, I end up going at 10:30am every Sunday and on most Saturday evenings at either 6pm or 6:30pm.

7 pm on Sunday.
Mass times also have different crowds, the earliest is usually more serious, more suitable for the elderly, the 9 am is for children, the one after that for families, and the noon and evening ones are for the younger folk. I admit, I like them for the tone and the music.
And I’m horrible on Sunday mornings, so I’m always running around if we decide to go then. 🙂
I’ll go on Saturday evening, 7 pm as well, if we have something on Sunday, but there is no choir and it doesn’t really feel like the Sunday Mass, although it counts.

since its the only time that confessions are offered (other than before the daily M-F 6:30 AM mass and the Thursday before First Fridays) I usually go to the 4:00 Saturday vigil Mass with my parents (they drive, I don’t). This next week and the following week, I’ll have to walk to mass, though, so definitely still going to 4:00 vigil mass. If we were out of town on vacation and got back on a Saturday late afternoon or evening, we opt for the noon Mass on Sunday.

We have an 8:00pm Sunday Mass as well. Our previous bishop, Cardinal Maida, mandated that each Vicariate offer a Sunday pm Mass, so that people who work Sundays have a reasonable close Mass opportunity.

Our parish is the one that offers that for our Vicariate. My teen son prefers that one, as our family normally goes to the 9:30am Sunday Mass, and that is just too early for a teen to get up on a weekend 🙂

And the 11:30 and 1:30 just cut into the day for him, so 8:00 it is:)
