One of our requirements as BSP/CFP members is to pray all 150 Psalms every year. Last year I used the St. Joseph Edition (revison) of the New American Bible Psalms. But last August I picked up an old copy of the Psalms in THE JERUSALEM BIBLE version for $1.00!

And that is the version I am using this year. It just reads better.

The Psalms in the Jerusalem Bible are beautiful, I think. How great to find them for only a:thumbsup: 👍 dollar!!

Another incentive for us to obtain a Jerusalem Bible! 🙂 I hear about this Bible, all the time on EWTN. I’m very curious now. It sounds like a wonderful version of the Holy Book.

DB got me a 1966 JB, I already had the NJB, but if I had my dibs first would be the one used for liturgy, Mass and LOTH. I am fine with the grail psalter and in general don’t have too many problems with the NAB (I use alternative references and don’t rely overmuch on the footnotes) but I simply am allergic to the psalms.

RSV is much better but some are just not poetic and hey they are sung poems.

If we pray LOTH, starting w/shorter Christian prayer, we will have the psalms covered a very worthy goal. I also like the idea of reading them in order, one a day, and meditating with them.
