In the 1962 missal, such as that by baronius press, what week will it be next sunday? I’ve lost my place in my missal!!

In the extraordinary form of the Mass, next Sunday is the 8th Sunday after Pentecost. At my TLM, it will also be our first with our new chaplain.

Ah yes, thankyou.

I’d also just checked on the UK Latin Mass Society website, they have a calendar. I get left behind a lot because I serve at the NO Saturday Vigil at my local parish, and its only on the odd sunday I find the time to make the 25 mile trip for the TLM. I should just update my Missal’s markers when I get home each week 😃

I’m glad you posted, though - I lost my place in my missal today, too!! 🙂 🙂

I also noticed today whilst trying to find the gospel for todays feast of Sts. Peter and Paul that I am missing everything between page 1074 and 1139.

In my Baronius press missal, under todays gospel heading, it says …"as on Jan 18th, (St. Peter’s Chair at Rome), p. 1137.

So, I turn to page 1137, and its not there! I am missing all the above mentioned pages. (1075-1138) Using the contents page I find that the Feast of Peter’s chair is moved to Feb 22nd. Under the heading for this Feast, I am informed there were originally two feasts of Peter’s chair which have been merged together and is celebrated on 22nd Feb. HoweverI am told the mass for the feast is listed on page 1134. (which is on the 18th Jan, its old ‘other’ date.) But I have no page 1134 as its smack in the middle of the pages I’m missing. Therefore, as this feasts Gospel matches that of today’s feast, I didnt get to read today’s gospel. At our TLM we get it in Latin with no English version (I believe that Summorum Pontificum said that the Gospel may be read in English too?)

Ive had to email Baronius press because I wanna know why I’m missing all these pages! Anyone else having this problem? My Baronius missal is their Motu Proprio edition incase you want to check.

An update:

Baronius emailed me back today to tell me I am indeed missing pages from my missal, and now I have provided my address they’re sending a new one out, which is good news.

On the downside, I’m beginning to tire of Baronius. My pocket Douay Rheims lost all its maps a few months back, because they just fell out, I dont know if they are glued at the back or sewn but they’re all loose and now they’re just sitting there in the back, so I could lose them on my travels.

Some of their workmanship seems quite shoddy, despite the claims and prices on their site.

Furthermore, I wanted to update my standard-size Flexi-cover Douay from them with the Hardback one, but I don’t trust them now! But I’ve also heard the Loreto version is of a much cheaper standard. Any thoughts? Now I wish I had told them about my pocket DR’s loose pages but I fear they’ll now think I’m scamming them!
