I don’t know if anyone saw it but the host, Larry Gilmore of Comedy Central really pulled a Stephen Colbert. Actually, that’s a little unfair, Gilmore got some of laughs mixed with a lot of groans and some silences while Colbert got no applause at all.

Pres. Obama is actually a pretty good comedian (or has good writers) but most presidents go for neutral or self-deprecating humor while his really has a bite.

Both really went after CNN and MSNBC, referring to reporters who left journalism to work for CNN.
 
It is pretty much a liberal propaganda show for the liberal media.

I’ve seen several of Bush (remember the time Rove danced rap music) and Obama. Both are having fun. No PC to worry about. Let them have fun and not label it as a left wing or right wing thing.

Both men and those who come will go to them. From both parties, let them have their fun.
 
Every year the jokes at that thing get cruder and cruder - this year complete with the “middle finger.” A sad commentary on our public life. This event, like so much in politics, has become debased and classless.
 
I found it all pretty embarrassing and beneath the level of what we should expect out of our elected officials and the people who report on them. As far as for the “comedian” that was hired for the event…just awful.

And, there is a difference in humor that pokes fun at yourself and humor that tears apart others—a HUGE difference.
 
I thought President Obama was funnier in previous yrs but I did still get a few laughs. My favorite moments were when he said next yr there will be someone new standing here and it is anyone’s guess who she will be, what he said about Ted Cruz calling a basketball rim a ring, saying and people called Obama a foreigner? And his pointing out Trump’s lack of foreign policy experience but then realizing oh he does have a lot of experience with his beauty pageants. Gilmore I thought was a bust. Overall I enjoyed other years of the dinner during the Obama terms better.

That finger came from the audience, for those of of you who didn’t see it last night.
 
from the clip I heard Obama’s jokes weren’t that funny. he would make a good comedian. I don’t like these dinners though and feel it is beneath the dignity of the office of the President of the United States. I am not sure of the purpose, but wish they would not continue.
 
I always get a kick out of the presidential stand-up, as I did this one. Yes, the humor is a little dry, but I like dry humor as well as corny humor.
 
I can explain it. It’s called, “DOUBLE STANDARD” and liberals (especially the press) are really good at it.
