Hello,

I had posted a few things a while ago, and it was a difficult time. My Aunt had answered a few things for me and sent me a Cathechism and a few books on people who came “Back to Rome.” Any way my parents didn’t take very well to it, both being former Catholics and Baptists (current); my mother being the main difficulty, she has a rather scarred youth. Any way, after this time and and still feel its the right way to go, and not a “spur of the moment” thing (I can be kinda impulsive at times). Anyway, I checked again at some nearby parishes for the schedule of RCIA classes, but their websites are rather outdated. Any idea where I should head?

Thank you

Go to Mass on Sunday, walk right up to a priest before Mass starts or after Mass and tell him you want to join the Church. Ask him to help you.

Where are you located? If you are anywhere near Atlanta, I would be willing to help. Send a PM.

Talking to a priest would be good as previous poster stated. Let him know the situation.

You said your parents were less than thrilled…

Given the lack of information, it’s hard to say much. Obviously be very respectful of your parents as they have been through a lot.

This is going to require some careful talking to your parents…by careful I don’t mean “hiding” but rather mindful of their past.

I will be praying for you. :signofcross:

Or, call the Church office and speak with the RCIA director.

P.S. Congratulations on your journey & I’m sending prayers for you upon your way!
