Oh, and Logically, I don’t want you to get the idea that I am trying to debate you. I just added my two cents as I specialize in the subject, as you know. …
They clearly did not expect to be here 100 years after 1914, …
My prayer is that the Governing Body will be guided by God to make sense of all things. Regardless of our differences in belief, faith in the God of the Bible is under attack. I hope we can find ways of working together instead of seeing one another as on opposite sides., not just you and me, but Jehovah’s Witnesses and all Christians.
Now that is a nice post. 🙂

And I can’t deny that the organisation has waited with baited breath for the end of this system for over a century.
(I myself remember suggesting the end might come in the year 2000 and my friend laughed and said: “There is no way it will last that long.”)

And JW’s will continue to proclaim the end of this system is near.

Jesus did encourage his followers to: “keep on the watch”. The signs he predicted have not gone away. The world that went crazy in 1914 hasn’t sorted itself out and become a just, peaceful place where war, poverty, sickness and hunger are a thing of the past. If anything there are more serious problems facing mankind than ever before. 😦
My brother in law (not a JW) and I were talking about climate change, the global economy and over-population. I concluded: “These days you don’t need to be a crazy religious person to think the world is going to end.” 😃

But this thread was a question about the 144,000. I guess the “when will the end come” is another subject.

Thank you Logically for your JW interpretation of the 144,000.

I hope all that view this interpretation understand it for just that, an interpretation and begin to see how easy it is for anyone to distort the original intent of the Holy Scriptures. The Scriptures have only one intent, one truth, one author. Anyone reading this or any interpretation should first ask themselves “who has to authority to properly interpret Scripture?”

Peace!!!
AMEN, and prayers. God Bless, Memaw

Poor DelsonJacobs has just sent me a private message saying there has been a serious disaster in his area.
26 inches of rain in one night!
(A disturbing co-incidence after my comment on climate change)

So obviously he won’t be posting any time soon.

The poor fellow. I hope things can get sorted for his community as well as can be expected.
I’m sure our thoughts and prayers are with all the people affected in his area. 😦

Thanks for the update Logically and amen to prayers for him and his loved ones! :gopray:

Mk13:32 But of that day or hour no man knoweth, neither the Angels in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father.
