They identified Metropolitan Schott as the reader of the third question to the pope at the bishops’ meeting. When I was watching the NY Mass today I saw two more bishops and they didn’t look like Metropolitan Schott. There were probably more I haven’t seen yet.

Can you identify them?

from the brief glimpses I had today, it looked like Bishop Paul of Stamford and Metropolitan Stefan of Philadelphia, both Ukrainian Catholic…

I beleive I saw the Syrian Catholic Bishop at the Mass in St. Patrick’s.

It can be difficult to tell from some camera angles where you see in a sea or Roman mitres a Byzantine Crown… There are at least 12 Byzantine bishops in the US…

It sure was difficult. I noticed one crowned bishop at the Yankee Stadium Mass but I wasn`t able to watch the whole thing or I might seen more Eastern Bishops.

Man, it would have been nice if some of the bishops not in communion with Rome would have come as well to further the reunion of the Churches. Maybe they did, I don’t really know, just saying such a thing woud be nice. The leader of the Assyrians who lives in Chicago now could have come and ended the schism or at least spoken with the Pope since they happen to be in the same country.

I dont pretend to be in the know on any of this but as for the Orthodox, isnt this Holy Week on the old calender? The Pope wouldn`t want to be conflicting with that.

There are 17 Eastern Catholic bishops (2 archeparchies and 15 eparchies) in the U.S. and, together with auxiliaries, there may be at least 21 of them as members of the USCCB.

Most, if not all, were enjoined to attend the major papal actitivities, like the Mass at the Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. and the Mass at Yankees Stadium in New York.

For sure, all of the Eastern Catholic bishops were/should have been at the meeting with the Pope at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception (CUA).

The Pope’s pastoral visit was for the entire Catholic Church in the U.S.A., East and West.

Thank you all! Is there a list of the Eastern bishops in the US?
