Some great ones have already been mentioned. I’d like to add two of my favorites.

David Brenner, a frequent guest on The Tonight Show, Johnny Carson. One routine stands out in my mind. He’s talking about using the restroom on a plane. You hear an announcement on the PA system: “This is your Captain. We’ve encountered some turbulence. Please return to your seat, and fasten your seatbelt.” Wait a minute, you’re not done with your business, and there’s no seatbelt. What are you supposed to do? Wrap yourself to the toilet seat with toilet paper.

Billy Crystal. I can’t think of any routines right now. However, I always felt like the situations he joked about, were so applicable to my own life. A keen observer of human nature.

Catherine O’Hara, Eugene Levy and the whole Second City group (John Candy). They were great.

A few other top comedians: Richard Lewis, Paul Reiser, and Jim Carrey.

No one has mentioned the late Robin Williams. I think he was even better in serious movie parts, my favorite being his role as a dedicated and innovative teacher in Dead Poets Society. But there is one skit I remember he did on Saturday Night Live in which he played Pres. Reagan and was being fed answers to questions at a presidential press conference. Somehow the wires got crossed and the info being fed to him switched to a basketball game, which he, in his role as Reagan, began reporting play by play. It was hilarious!

Yeah, I like Richard Lewis. Something really appealing about him.
Kevin Hart is funny.
Bob Newhart is hysterical. That hesitant humor is so great.
New act Anjelah Johnson is really funny.
Jack and Karen on Will and Grace made the whole show…which otherwise was not all that funny.

I saw Whoopi Goldberg in concert several years ago. I wouldn’t pay to go see her now though.

I like Sam kinison. His delivery was great. Bill burr is good too.

As for movies, bill Murray was good.
Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, Dan Akroyd, John Belushi, Steve Martin, Dennis Miller were all great.

Jenna Elfman’s story in Darhma & Greg about sneaking her first cheese burger was a hoot and Betty White had the other Golden Girls cracking up with her Herring Circus story. We like Larry the Cable Guy; he even looks like my SIL.

I like jim carrey and the wayans brothers and jamie foxx.

No favorite actually. I really don’t like much in the way of comedy at all. When I was growing up, the family all liked I Love Lucy, The Three Stooges, Red Skelton, etc. I liked Playhouse 90 and The Twilight Zone.

oh I forgot Lucy! She has brought me many hours of laughter!

In hopes of bring politically incorrect to them max , I must say my favourite stand up comedian of all time, past present and future is Bill Cosby.

I actually like this Italo-Australian comic named Joe Avati.

His comedy act is basically about his Italian family trying to assimilate into Australian culture.

Some of his acts are bilingual, so it limits the audience a bit.
